Cameron's EU "deal" negotiations. 20:14 - Feb 19 with 17627 views | exiledclaseboy | F*ck me get on with it. Everyone knows you're going to come out with something fairly meaningless that you'll hail as a triumph before your Cabinet members start scratching each other's eyes out from now until all eternity. Succinct and to the point! Obviously a man in the know. What we are wanting to exit is the political project that is the EU - we signed up to a trading relationship and that is what we need to get back to. "There is only one way to get the change we need - and that is to vote to go; because all EU history shows that they only really listen to a population when it says No. The fundamental problem remains: that they have an idea that we do not share. They want to create a truly federal union, when most British people do not. It is time to create a new relationship, in which we manage to extricate ourselves from most of the supranational elements...." That was Boris Johnson in today's Telegraph. Perhaps it isn't as cut and dry as you think. Sent from my iPad

Cameron's EU on 23:06 - Feb 21 by Kilkennyjack | I think you will find an out vote will result in Britain leaving based on the will of the people. If you don't want the Exit, then vote to stay in. Hard to understand any welsh person voting to leave.? |

Or a Scottish person, or a cockney person or a Lancastrian, or a Geordie or...whatever. A bureaucratic bunch of busybody wasters is no more attractive to a Welsh person than it is to any other Briton. You may say it's better to be inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in. Normally yes. But it's not our tent. We'll be better off pitching our own.

You're deluded if you think a vote to leave will have Hollande, Merkel and the eastern Europeans grovelling to have us back in. Utterly. F*cking. Deluded.

All this "they" stuff. The U.K. is a member of the club, as are countries who share many common interests eg. Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany and Sweden. As a member of a club you make compromises for the greater benefit eg having a stronger position in negotiations with the US or Chinese. The last thing any club needs is a petulant Jonjo Shelvey type member who thinks they are the b and end all of everything.

You've got inside knowledge? The EU needs the UK more than we need the EU. In 1973 we joined an economic and trading union - the EEC. We did not join a political union whose aims are ultimately a United States of Europe. In 1975 I voted to stay in because I saw the benefits of that economic and trading arrangement. Big mistake. The EEC morphed into the integrationist monster that is the EU. We need to get back to our original arrangement - it's a no brainer. The EU will disintegrate within 10 years anyway. Time to get out now. Most people on this board don't remember the UK being an independent sovereign nation - either not born yet or too young anyway. I do remember. And it wasn't at all bad. The younger generation literally do not know any thing other than EU membership, so they accept it as the norm. It ain't.
