Ki to leave next. on 10:40 - Jul 18 by shandyjack | I believe the club wanted to keep him rather than loan him out. Michu and his brattish behaviour gave the club no choice |
I agree. I'm sure it was obvious months ago that Michu didn't want to play for us though. Poz has been persona non grata and Pablo had a year left on his contract and Laudrup was a big part of him coming here. We've had plenty of warning but the crucial role of a creative number 10 is still unfilled. I hope we weren't banking on Gylfi - it seemed pretty obvious he didn't want to come back.

Ki to leave next. on 10:08 - Jul 18 by WarwickHunt | Jenkins and Monk have known about the cull (or at least most of it) since February. Monk is on record as saying he wanted the transfer business done before the World Cup started. We have two experienced midfielders 4 weeks from the start of the season... |
The thing is even though he said that things might have changed with other people too,he might have fully expected Hernandez to be here this season as far as we know, after all there's not much Hernandez could have to complain about is there? Just saying.

Ki to leave next. on 10:52 - Jul 18 with 2130 views | Swan91 | I don't see ki leaving yet. Both club and his agent have said that he will stay as a swans player. I know he wasn't as good as he could've been when he was with us but with new manager and new players in He could well and truly show his potential this season. He did well in Sunderland and had a good World Cup performance (yes the team did rubbish but he played really well) I also believe swansea have done really well in the transfer market and like others have said we have pretty much finished in the goalkeeper, defender and striker area. Just need midfield. Not bad going seeing as we have only played one friendly so far. And Ofcourse we should already have a new winger coming in (monterro) I think we look on track in the market.

Seems a 50/50 mix between the patient fan and the panic fan. Just like when we were faced with possibility of relegation. I believe just like then that all will be good come end of the window

Ki to leave next. on 10:37 - Jul 18 by londonlisa2001 | but who has got their business done? Have you seen the clear out rumours at Man Utd, the number of players supposedly being targeted at Liverpool?Every club is in the same boat - the local press here are full of QPR not signing people or Chelsea needing others etc. None of the clubs have done their transfer business - hence why we are having rumours of Ben leaving, or Bony leaving or Ki. |
It seems like clubs that want to get their business done by buying from us are doing OK.

Thats going on 3 yrs to show his potential though . Others have been judged on half a season and didnt Even Get to go on tour. If we can Get JDG i Think ki Will be gone. No great loss for me . I agree with darran that pablo may well have been part of monks plans but wanted to go elsewhere which means a headache trying to sign someone similar, unless he tries to bring pozuelo through, which is Think is slum to zero going on rumours.

Spurs haven't signed a single player yet. We have something to do with that. The only clubs' we have actually sold or loaned a player to so far are Napoli, Crawley, Northampton and Aberystwyth. So it seems like we're playing the same game as everyone else. [Post edited 18 Jul 2014 11:04]

really? Davies hasn't actually gone anywhere - in fact there are lots of pics on the official site of him in the States meeting kids, Bony hasn't gone anywhere, Ki hasn't gone, Vorm hasn't gone. So the only ones that have gone are Michu, Pablo and the ones that we didn't want to keep? So no one much seems to be buying from us - they may be trying to, but they're not done yet. In the meantime, we've signed Gomis, Fabianski, Emnes and Kingsley. This is all a bit strange. It's like deciding you want to redecorate your house because it's looking a bit tired and could do with a freshen up, then getting it all sanded down ready for a repaint, and then going mad with the decorators because it looks worse than it did before you started. And everytime they say 'but we haven't repainted it yet, we're just getting it ready' you start shouting at them again. Why don't we judge once the paint's gone on? Mad.

In a normal situation I'd agree with you about letting Ki go if we get JDG. But considering the amount of players leaving or frozen out, I think we're going to need him. Ideal scenario would be him extending his contract, so we have him for this season and if he doesn't impress, we don't lose him for peanuts next summer.

But why not keep both? I personally think that ki could be the cover for Britton. He would do well in that position. And then have jdg and Shelvey as cm and am with other additions as cover Yeah I agree it seemed like it was quite sudden when it came to Pablo. Wasn't it only 3 or 4 days before they left for the USA that Pablo had expressed his desire to leave (if the media were correct in their reporting anyway)

Well thats one for the club. They dont have to sell ki do they ? They could just say he aint for sale because we dont have required cover, maybe the club have something in the pipeline. In fairness to the swans they do Get the Odd signing from out of nowhere. I actually Think canas is the better cover for britton, didnt do much wrong playing There last season despite what people say, and of course only had 6 months to prove himself. Pablo IMO decided he wanted out once laudrup left but was professional in keeping his head down and doing his job, maybe the club were well aware ,its another one where we just dont have any clue until we saw him with an other teams training top on. No doubt a big clear out was on the Cards ,only the club know the exact details. A couple of decent signings in the NeXT few weeks and bony on board and i Think we Will have enough to compete in terms of personell.

I agree about canas. I think he played well, but it seems that off the field whether the manage fell out with him or something else that has caused him to not be in our plans. Strange thing about Pablo. I felt he played so much better after monk took charge. He looked more comfortable and dangerous on the pitch. Well about 6-7 players have left us so far with about 4 coming in. So maybe another 3 signings in midfield area and we should be fine I think. I hope bony stays but either way I am really excited about this coming season. Even the staff that have been signed have been improvements and it looks like it wasn't just the squad that is having a change for the better, it was also back room staff.

Two games for me which instantly come to mind. Are Southampton home and away. We actually lost both games. But away when most of Spanish boys played we looked dominant. Home when most didn't we were a shambles.

Agreed. But let's not bother going there. I get the feeling that a few players who are loved and adored on here caused serious amounts of problems behind the scenes, one of those is now one of the top earners at the club, the other is the manager. But the less said the better.

OR IS ONLY THE PARTY LINE ALLOWED UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE PRIVILLEDGED LIST???????????????????????????????????????????????????? Yes even the Southampton manager said we were by far the better team at theirs Heres another fact for you. Bony played in every PL game for which he was fit under Laudrup (which is more than can be said under Monk) Heres a question for you Do you know the meaning of stalking? Heres a challenge for you. Give some examples where I have presented something as a fact when it has not been. Should be easy for you given your comment.

The very fact people, fellow swans supporters treat these idiots like gods is laughable, they merely represent the club in a shirt, nothing else matters. They get far too much money in a pretty depressed financial area of Wales. As Darran would say ..... And I concur.
