Should The Trust make a statement at the end of the season... (read first post) on 23:37 - Mar 26 by DwightYorkeSuperstar

It may be a minority, but it's not as small a minority as I'm sure most were suspecting.

85 people have voted.
Out of about 16,000 ST holders, or the few thousand (at a guess) registered on PS.
It's a far smaller minority than I thought you'd get.
I haven't voted by the way, as I do think the board should explain what they are allowed to about the ML sacking, BUT, only after all the legal sh1te is out of the way.
That may not be for 18 months or longer, if it happens at all. Doubt it will happen by the end of the season

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

This isn't just about the Laudrup sacking / Monk appointment. It's also about the way in which the club is being run, why no personnel with the experience of maximising revenues of businesses such as ourselves have been brought in, not to mention the embarrassing behaviour many of our directors engage in on social media or whoring themselves out to the nearest paper whenever possible.

Yes I know.
JVZ and his love of talking to the press (when he should act like a director and keep schtum,) has been done to death, on here, the old sites, the pubs, the ground, away trip busses and other places the Swans are discussed.
And tw@tter/ FB/ here are just hiding grounds for keyboard warriors. LD shouldn't get so wound up by tosspots on any of them.
Most won't debate with him face to face, otherwise they'd make their comments at a fans forum. Some people are just a bit hot headed. Most of us get angry sooner or later, don't see your need to make an attack on LD.
If he has embarrassed you, IMHO you are a bit too sensitive.
Guessing he embarrassed himself more. But he probably won't learn from it. That's life eh?

Qu 1, did ML want anyone at all?

Qu 2 did the board just grab who they could as they were worried about our ever increasing injury list?

Qu 3 and 4, you need to wait until the legal sh1te is sorted
Qu 5 relies on the answer to 3 and 4

Qu 6, you say there is a great degree of transparency between the club and fans. Why the need for all the questions if we're getting all the answers?

Qu 8. There must be many, many good people out there who could really increase our revenue streams. Even if they were paid £250 k+ (bonuses predominantly and wages) they would bring in more money and possibly get STADCO/ Ticket sales site running better, to help them earn even bigger bonuses.
Like you, I can't help but think, the club should be employing someone to "make hay while the sun shines."

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

I thought we'd agreed that if you were a bona fide poster that you could and would ask your questions through the normal governance process that exists within the consitution of the trust and the club? As can anyone else if they so wish. What is the point in worrying about this poll at all? You don't need democratic legitimacy to make your points and ask your questions as forcefully as you want. The opportunity is there and I'll be really interested to see if you take it or whether it's just a whole lot of hot air.

I have made enquirers as to where and when the next opportunity to do so is. Calm down. It was only last night you claimed you would never engage in a debate with me again. What has changed over night?

If you were a consistent reader of this forum from January onwards, you would know I am not a troll and this is my honest opinion. If I was trolling then I would deservedly be banned by now. Your contribution to this thread is not of the high standard this thread has so far produced. Please do not post again here unless you plan on posting a constructive message. Thank you.

My conclusion is that a lot more people than originally thought are concerned with how our board have conducted themselves in recent times. The general idea before this poll was that it was just me and 1 or 2 others who felt this way, but clearly a lot more do. If somebody else other than DwightYorkeSuperstar had conducted this poll and worded the opening post more softly then it would have likely yielded a few more 'Yes' votes too. I am happy with its outcome.

Should The Trust make a statement at the end of the season condemning the actions the board have taken this season in almost every key decision they have had to make and demand answers as to why they have acted in such immature and quite bizarre ways they have.

You may disagree with some of the questions I think should be addressed, if so, please tell me why, do not just click no and leave, or call me names and leave. This is a very important topic and one I am sure Phil and the other head sheep will be quick to try and swipe away.

We all have our own ideas and suspicions as to why certain things were done / weren't done, but we have never recieved an official answer regarding most of the decisions. For example, we deserve to know;

1. Why we failed to strenghthen in January knowing we were struggling and heading downwards to the bottom end of the table

2. Why we have wasted large sums of money on bringing in Ngog and Emnes when they offer absolutely nothing

3. Why we they waited until the window ended to sack Laudrup

4. Why Laudrup was sacked when they had no clue who to replace him with

5. Why they gambled our clubs huge future revenues on a player with ZERO managerial experience and his assistant (Curt) who also has ZERO managerial experience

6. Why a huge level of transparency has developed between the board and the fans, even on minor matters such as why Michu was out injured longer than anticipated

7. Why many of our DIRECTORS have the self dicipline of ten year old children, spilling important and probably confidential information to newspapers such as Van Zweeden spilling anything Dutch related (Koeman asking about the job), or Dineen being worked into a temper by 14 year old kids on Twitter and saying things someone of his position shouldn't.

8. Why, with our FOURTH season in this league fast approaching, haven't we hired somebody capable of helping expand our revenues etc to their potential. Instances such as the Summer one where sponsors pulled out last minute leaving us in a mess are embarrassing. I respect Huw and co for what they have done, but they are not the men to run a business approaching turning over £100m a year. I have no problem with Huw overseeing each department, he is the chairman, but he shouldn't be running each one himself when he has little to zero experience doing so.

Are these the questions you will be posing to the Chairman at the next fans forum?

I just had a brief scroll through page 4 of this thread, and all I could see from you was your best guesses at answering the questions. While I do appreciate your effort, I would much prefer my questions to be answered by Huw or an appropriate member of the board.

People giving their 'educated guesses' is one of the reasons I want answers from the top. I would much rather the truth than someones 'best guess'. But I do appreciate your attempt to answer them and I'm glad you agree with me on at least a couple of points.

Leigh Dineen saw the question/comment about 32Red and provided this answer

--

I can’t obviously go into too much detail ref the 32red deal buyout but will try my best to shed some light on it. There were 2 reasons why we approached them to ask them to forgo their final year. Firstly the board felt that they didn’t want to have a betting company on the front of shirt any longer. It had been 4 years and children weren’t able to buy proper replicas and also it meant we could look at ‘ betting ‘ as a partnership rather than main sponsor ( exclusivity rights didn’t allow us to have a betting partner as well as main ). In the premier league a betting partnership can have better revenue than say a main sponsor in the championship ( our deal with 32Red was done in the championship ) Secondly we were in the early stages of looking at the stadium expansion and wanted to test the market place. By having the shirt option available made sense plus the naming rights of the stadium only had a few years to run. At no time did we break with 32Red because we had something already lined up. I’m not sure where that came from. We were talking to quite a few interested parties at the time , some construction and some not but none were particularly near completion. The board had decided they wanted to take the risk at the time and in the end it was well founded and one of those we had been talking to came to fruition which was great. You will note that alongside that we now have 2 betting partners which we didn’t have before. The downside of course was that we might not have had a front of shirt at all but we were comfortable with that as part of a long term strategy. We try not to do things on an adhoc short term basis. Hope this helps.

Excellent. A what I assume is an honest answer from a member of the board to help clarify a matter that has been the cause of much negativity and false rumours since the Summer. How difficult was that?

All I and many want are small comments from an official source, such as our Vice Chairman on matters such as this which more often than not lead to rumours and negativity as previously mentioned. I fail to see how asking for these small comments is 'none of the fans business' etc as others have mentioned.

Hopefully in the not too distant future this sort of thing can become a regular occurence.

Thank you for posting that here, Phil. May I ask did he see my question or was it a reply to a similar one posted to him on Twitter or elsewhere?
