Josh Tymon link updated from last week

We have updated our news story from last week on Josh Tymon after news of several clubs including Swansea City are vying for his services. It’s a seven figure fee, and with Kienan Davis leaving a nasty taste in the mouth we now wonder what flexibility Paul Watson now has when it comes to transfer business ?

That needs sorting out, and the club also needs to brace itself if the transfer window doesn’t pay off with so much income coming in over the summer. We remain positive of course.

Stoke defender Josh Tymon is being linked with a move away from the Potteries this morning as speculation increases on the twenty four year olds future at the Bet365 stadium. As the transfer window gets closer to closing and the Swans busy themselves in the recruitment department don’t expect this to be the last link today.

Tymon’s contract is up in two years so he will command a fee, however he has fallen out of favour to an extent at Stoke this season. He did feature in the 1-0 win against Watford last time out from the bench. The left back would fill a role that Swans head coach Michael Duff has continued to mention as an issue for the club this season.

Yesterday the Swans head coach mentioned again his priority is left sided players. Speaking on incoming transfers Duff said, "It needs to be imminent as we only have a week left, we’ve been trying, we’ve been pushing” The real issue is Leeds United are also linked to Tymon as they too look to plug problem gaps in their own defence. The Swans must also consider Tymon’s injury record, he was out for twenty one games over several periods last season with what was described as persistent ankle injuries.

What do we know ?
The Swans are constantly making contact with clubs regards player availability, Duff reminds us regularly of the work going on behind the scenes, and we would expect that. From what we know no official approach has been made for Tymon, and the interest from Leeds could well put the Swans off financially. The arrival of Enda Stevens in the Potteries has reduced Tymon to the bench this season. Having racked up just over a hundred games in the championship Tymon has nine assists and two goals to his name.

As we said at the start of this report, expect more news as the day progresses, and of course our regular match day build up later as the Swans take on AFC Bournemouth in the league cup.

Swansea City : Sorry Luke, but this simply isn’t working
The Swans failed to show up in the Welsh derby and made a mockery of the shirt they were wearing. ‘They may as well have spat on the badge’ was one comment as the fans left the ground. They were so angry, so annoyed and many now see little in Luke Williams remaining at the club. It was a pathetic attempt by a weak willed team to play a game of football.
Swansea City : Match day morning : Darling & Cabango train on Friday
Today at 12.30pm is yet another derby game between Swansea City and Cardiff City. The previous encounter ended 1-1 in August at the Swansea.com, that game was thrown away by the Swans and they should have won it easily.
Swansea City v Cardiff City : The records that tell you who is the best !
People will see this game as the fiercest derby in the UK, others will shout Rangers v Celtic or Manchester United v Liverpool even Swindon v Oxford (not sure why) but all of these games are different to Swansea City v Cardiff City. This game is the only ‘bubble trip’ in the country.
Luke Williams : Where could he end up on Sunday ?
There’s not a lot going on transfer wise regards the Swans at least. No signings after seventeen days but we are seemingly determined to get players in. Plus there’s the derby tomorrow as well. To cap that off Luke is going scouting abroad.
Swansea City transfer news : still passing the ball around the back
The Welsh derby between Swansea City and Cardiff City kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday, the Swans the away side and very much struggling for form on the road. Tonight we will look at where we are as the transfer window reaches half way.,
Joe Low knock back number two will not deter the Swans
A second bid before this weekend’s dismal FA Cup game away at Southampton has been turned down by Wycombe. That bid was for centre back, Joe Low. It was common news a second bid was coming but now it seems a third will be needed.
Swansea City : Luke continues to make odd statements
The loss at Southampton in the FA Cup with what many Swansea City fans believe was an ill informed choice of squad is bringing matters to a head at Swansea City.
