Russell Martin sums up the demolition of Cardiff City perfectly.

It was a very emotional Russell Martin post match after his side completely destroyed neighbours Cardiff City, so much so his words were that poignant we have reproduced them here. We will have much more on this game as the day progresses.

On his team -

"I have not felt as emotional as this after a game, I am incredibly proud of the players and what they have done,” he said. It was a big build-up to the game, we were written off by a lot of people and to do that and show that courage is fantastic. They took the atmosphere out of the game with the way they controlled the game in that first 15 minutes, and everything we had worked on over the last two weeks was put into practice. They showed everything they can be, we had young men out there who showed they can grow in a tough situation. Cardiff had been in really good form under Steve and we have come here and limited to them and were a real threat. We were clinical, that is something we have not always been this season, but we really were here. We showed the team we can be and I hope it is a small reward to the supporters for the patience they have shown us.”

On the staff & fans -

"It means so much to everyone. We all watched the supporters leaving the stadium on the buses earlier, and we watched a video that had been put together by the analysts and the media team,” he said.

"It had messages from supporters and members of staff about what this meant to them, and I think once we had watched that we knew we had to come here and win. To see the staff and everyone enjoying it at the end was amazing. The majority of supporters have been incredible and have an appreciation of what we are trying to do. Matt Gill and I stood back at the end because it is about the players and the backroom staff. Our chef (Chris Watkins) was in the away end today, and for people like him, Huw Lake (player liaison officer), and our kitmen Michael (Eames) and Shaun (Baggridge) it means so, so much. It means so much that we could do that for them. We spoke about it with the players before. They had the chance to put themselves in the history books, to do something no-one has ever done before. Football has an amazing way of making people forget about their worries and stresses to feel special for a period of time. I'm sure it'll be a good night out in Swansea tonight. The boys have achieved something that they'll always have together, whether they play together for a long time or against each other or meet in 20 years at a reunion dinner or whatever, they'll always have this moment, they deserved that.”

Summed up perfectly by the swans boss, but we have plenty more to say. C’mon the Jacks !

Swans crush Blackburn : Was it just a coincidence ?
It was Swansea City’s day today, the shackles were off with the team slightly tweaked, and at last we saw what summer signing Vipotnik is all about. His changing of position with Liam Cullen aided a more fluent and thoughtful Swansea attack and couple that with Myles Peart-Harris at last stepping up all the ingredients were there for a win. And win the Swans did.

Swansea City : Go for number one, save time looking for second best
We had had a good look around the latest betting on the next Swansea City manager. Basically the bookies in this market are generally far off the mark when it comes to Swansea betting. They wheel out a few anomalies like Russell Martin who would never return to the club and prey on fans hope more than sense.
Luke Williams : The Swans just need to stop making the same old cheap mistakes
Despite the wait - when it became apparent that the new Swansea investment team pretty much had enough of Luke Williams, the Swans head coach, the inevitable happened. A brief wait had to be taken when one of the Directors was dealing with a family funeral, it soon turned to a green light yesterday afternoon after a decision was made on Sunday.
