Morgan Whittaker concerned about his Swansea future EXCLUSIVE

News has reached us from several sources that Morgan Whittaker, a January signing from Derby County is becoming increasingly concerned about his Swansea City future.

Swansea City paid a minimal sum for Whittaker from Derby County in the January window, with loaded add ons - if he were to secure first team football and appearances in the first team squad. That hasn’t materialised as such, and although he has found the net twice for the swans he is genuinely concerned for his swans future. Andre Ayew has left the club as expected, and it seems he is in a straight fight with Liam Cullen for a spot on the Swansea City bench.

It’s early days for Morgan but the swans are clearly chasing at least two new strikers for the new season which will relegate him to a possible fourth choice spot at the Liberty. Coupled with that the rumours regards Steve Cooper, who was instrumental in bringing him to Swansea things are on a bit of a knife edge. Whittaker has been played out of position to an extent when he has made it on to the pitch, but his quality was evident in the goal he scored against Manchester City in the FA Cup.

With things in the balance at the Liberty regards Steve Cooper, It seems Morgan wants some clarification on his current position. Currently he lives in the city with his girlfriend, both are young and they find themselves not only in a place that is pretty alien to them, Morgan is seemingly being marginalised as a first team player at Swansea.

His representatives at World in motion are currently not answering any questions on Morgan, who is desperate to find himself in a situation where he at least has first team opportunity. The summer is just with us, but finding himself in fourth place at Swansea City isn’t a position he hoped he would be in.

Behind Jamal Lowe and seemingly Liam Cullen, and with at least one striker to come in to take the main spot of Andre Ayew, it’s bound to concern a young man in his formative years. Assurances are what he needs, and that can only come from Steve Cooper, as long as he remains Swansea manager. We all know it’s June, and many will say it’s a case of work hard and reap the rewards, but that’s not easy in fourth or fifth spot at a club determined to repeat last seasons success plus one.

Morgan’s uncertainty is genuine, it isn’t speculation, so hopefully the swans will either put his fears to rest as soon as is possible, or allow him time to find somewhere where he is wanted. Either way with so much speculation behind the scenes at Swansea our younger players need to know where they stand, not waiting on others to make a decision on whether they want to stay or not. That’s poor management.
