Let's Show Sunderland No Mercy

Garry Monk's message to his players was quite clear ahead of the Swans visit to Sunderland this afternoon and that is to show no mercy on the home side after their poor start to the season.

The Swans will go to the Stadium of Light this afternoon with the home side bottom of the Premier League after two defeats that highlighted pretty every deficiency in their squad in both games.

They have been roundly criticised by pundits and fans alike and the mass exodus last Saturday when Norwich scored their third is something that we would dearly love to replicate today as we go in search of the win that will continue our excellent start to the new season.

There could be a danger that we take it slightly easier on the home side because of their problems but we know how Garry Monk's mind works and he has encouraged his players to heap more misery on under pressure Sunderland with a fine victory.

"We have got to show no mercy to them,” said the Swansea boss.

"My players know that if it was the other way round, Sunderland would show no mercy to us.

"We have to do the same. We can try to make their crowd turn against them.

"We have got to get our best game on the pitch as well as trying to nullify their threats.

"The criticism they have had this week is probably to our detriment.

"But hopefully, if we can deliver our game plan, we can trouble them.”
