Bony's Message To Swans Fans?
Wilfried Bony's reaction after scoring the Swans third goal yesterday evening was one I believe of defiance against some press reports that surfaced this week following the sacking of Michael Laudrup.
Bony ran towards the supporters and was clearly heard to be shouting "Here" whilst pointing to the ground suggesting that the reports started on the rag pages of Sports Direct were completely untrue and that he wanted to stay at the Liberty.
Bony was signed by Laudrup for a club record fee last summer and almost before the door had shut behind Laudrup Sports Direct claimed "A number of Europe's giants continue to be linked with Bony, including Borussia Dortmund as they eye a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, and SportsDirect News understands that Bony may be keen to make a swift exit from Swansea at the end of the season."
However, after heading home Pablo Hernandez cross for the third goal to complete the Swansea rout Bony's statement appears to suggest otherwise. His 17th goal of the season though will see him attracting interest from elsewhere although he does not seem in a hurry to hasten his exit from the club that gave him his chance in the Premier League.
Bony will surely exceed the twenty goal barrier for the season after a promising first season at this level which has now seen him score 8 times in the Premier League despite the Swans indifferent form for large parts of the season.
The one thing that stood out for me yesterday was the reaction of the players who all clearly backed the new man in charge Garry Monk with their performances and fight on a day when it was desperately needed to put some daylight between us and the bottom three places. That kind of performance and the reaction of the players to all three goals told a story that no reports will tell me different.
Bony I think is here to stay and if he does end up elsewhere in the summer it will be for a substantial amount of money only and not because he is looking to hasten his exit.

Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion, plus Villa winger out of reach This morning we focus on a game which has lost itself to what we can call ‘football fatigue’ Especially after some of the extraordinary fall out after Luke Williams press conference yesterday afternoon. Unbelievable nonsense on one of the other websites, faceless, nameless and very obsessive.
Swansea City : The Luke saga drags on and on : What’s next today ? As the many thousands of views dictate on this website we continue to report matters of interest as we did yesterday morning on Luke Williams. A fairly concise and pertinent piece by our site owner. I suppose what every writer relies upon is for the reader to actually understand what is being said.
Swansea City : Does Luke know what he is doing to our club ?There has been much comment and it has to be said bar a few abusive idiots on social media a lot of frustration on those platforms regards Harry Darling and Luke Williams. Much of this brought about by the reluctance of Luke Williams to just clarify his position at Swansea City.
Honestly Luke do you really believe your PR ! Swans crash at Pompey If Swansea City could be any more unimaginative and weak in an away fixture this season it will signal that Luke Williams really hasn’t got the credentials to lead this Swansea team to anything other than complete mediocrity. The very fact he is being linked with West Bromwich Albion (it isn’t a rumour Luke, as you well know) tells us he has already lost heart in this Swansea side, and his reluctance to speak truthfully about it is an insult to Swansea fans.
Pompey v Swans : All your team news & Harry Darling speculation this morning Happy New Year to each and every one of you who have religiously supported the Indy this past year, thank you from all of us here. Swansea City visit Portsmouth today for a 3pm kick off at Fratton Park. Early news points towards Franco not being available with a bad dental injury and Jay Fulton more than likely starting the game.
