BJB Day 18

The New Stadium Begins To Take Shape

Home > Story Index >Day 18 In The Big Jack Brother House

09.06.03 - 7.01am - It's another early start in the house for the latest event in the BJB Olympics. Jason Smith is a clear winner of the improvised snooker that they have been playing. The housemates all agree that Smudger was always likely to win because of the sheer number of breaks that he makes.
09.06.03 - 8.12am - The housemates put some work into the weekly task before breakfast. The first stand behind the goal is in the process of being erected. This will be the stand that the housemates have decided will house the away fans. All is going well until Steve Watkin attempts to put in the first row of seating and misses causing the foundations to collapse. It could appear that the deadline is now going to be put back thirteen years or so.
09.06.03 - 9.43am - Leon Britton makes the group breakfast. This consists of bacon, eggs and alphabet spaghetti. Leon decides that he will spell everyone's name out on their respective plate. It was a nice thought but goes wrong when Myra receives her plate with 'Mirer' on it, Peter's says 'Peta' and Leon himself spells his 'Leighon' Other than the spelling though Leon has learnt to cook quite well.
09.06.03 - 10.18am - More work on the stadium model. John Hollins is constructing the manager's dugout. He has decided that he doesn't need seats as standing is a better option and has put in compulsory rests to put folded arms on in front of both home and away dugouts. He has decided as well that there should only be enough seats for the manager in each one as you never need to make substitutions through a game as the team you put on the pitch should be good enough.
09.06.03 - 11.00am - Leon Britton has been given a picture of the stadium to colour in for the group. Unfortunately after much concentration the housemates reject his idea of a bright purple stadium with orange grass and yellow seats. Leon however is allowed a lollipop as he has managed to colour in without going over the lines.
09.06.03 - 1.14pm - Peter Owen has won the latest Olympic event. This is the Swim, Marathon, Sprint event (SMS) Luckily for Peter he actually did this event before anyone else as he signed up for it before he went into the house.
09.06.03 - 3.58pm - Big Jack Brother calls Myra into the diary room to find out how she thinks the task is going. She claims that they would be a lot further forward if John Williams stopped insisting on sleeping areas in each stand and Nick would stop campaigning for a landing strip so he can fly home for games a lot easier. She also believes that the shop should be the biggest part of the stadium and that the shop should be named 'Myra 4 Us'
09.06.03 - 5.04pm - The first stand of the stadium has been completed. It houses seventeen of Leon's play people all nicely decked out in an away strip of all red. The markings for the car park have also been laid and Leon is lying on the floor of the BJB house parking all his toy cars in the spaces.
09.06.03 - 7.13pm - Leigh is falling out with the rest of the group over the office space in the stadium. He believes that each trust member should have an office each inside the stadium where they can hang their membership cards. He also requests a picture gallery where all press pictures of Marilyn Croft can be hung for the world to see. James Thomas and Nick Rees are in disagreement though - Nick believes it should be press shots of him while Thomas is campaigning for 37 different shots of his third goal against Hull. The housemates do agree though that Mura's centre fold in Playboy has no place in the new stadium.
09.06.03 - 9.44pm - The housemates call a halt to the stadium planning for the day when John Hollins wraps colourful ribbon round the outside of the model. He is asked why he did this and explains that apparantely you need red tape for any stadium. He also asks Big Jack Brother if they know anyone called P. Lanning as you need his permission to build anything as well.
09.06.03 - 10.33pm - A record in the house as all housemates head to bed. John Williams tests out his new papier mache pillow that he has made while Leon is content with his dummy he has made out of the old collapsed stand.
