Inspection set for Thursday afternoon
There may be doubts about whether County’s match at home against Rotherham United on Boxing Day will take place, as the club have asked for a pitch inspection to take place. Despite the game taking place on Sunday, an inspection will be carried out on Thursday afternoon.
The club have sought the advice of the Football League and an inspection to see if the Edgeley Park playing surface is playable will be made at 2pm.
Sale’s home match against Brive was called off on Sunday afternoon due to a frozen pitch at Edgeley Park and as temperatures haven’t improved over the week, you have to fear the worst ahead of the visit of the high-flying Millers.
The entire League Two programme was wiped out last weekend due to the wintry weather and so far two pitch inspections have been arranged ahead of this weekends matches. These have been limited to North West clubs so far, as both County and Macclesfield have asked for early inspections.
