My and an old pal are finally about to do our long-planned 3 week road trip from Nashville down to New Orleans. Have created several playlists but will produce a LFW one too.
So if you feel so inclined please feel free to suggest...long road driving classics.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime." (Mark Twain)

this one reminds me of when we left for norwich in 1976 mid day on the friday. not quite the same vehicles though....
Keep 'em coming....so good. I'll curate most (forgive me for those that don't make the cut) into some sort of flow and repost the spotify playlist link here.
I’ve done that road trip in reverse with a couple of mates. New Orleans to Chicago via Memphis, Nashville, St Louis and a few others.
You’re in Blues country on that drive down. Must stop at Clarksdale and visit Red’s bar. World famous blues bar, but not fancy at all! Way better than the Morgan Freeman owned place in the town.
Have a great time!

Might sound a bit daft but me and my lad pulled off the main road as we were heading towards Memphis from New Orleans and stopped by the river and just took It all in, apart from there being a chain gang working further down the river the place was silent except for the sound of the river, It's just beautiful to be there.
Think I mentioned this before but whatever you do when your In Memphis visit Sun Studios, It's all there, all the music history any one could wan't, make sure you get the guided tour though.
