Stoke City Match Thread. on 15:36 - Apr 29 by Damo1962 | Same plan as last week. Get to half time level...and kick on probably. Glad I don't have to watch it mind you. Result is only thing that matters currently. |
Agree result is all that matters and we've got to 0-0 HT, but flow of the game indicates it's much more likely Stoke will get the result here. Mind you I said the same thing last week so we'll see... Reading are statistically dominating Wigan (albeit 0-0 HT) which also has me worried. If we can kick on 2nd half a bit like last week then stoke there for the taking.

A few obvious ones but Chair was not fouled in that last second .He is having a poor game as is albert and where is Tim totally invisible so far. Smallbone is a class player and very dangerous even though on loan he truly wants to change the game. If Armstrong was around he would give Yajelka a heart attack but its not going to happen now

Stoke City Match Thread. on 15:58 - Apr 29 with 1798 views | qprd | dont need much insight to observe what went on (or didnt) in the first half game was pretty balanced for the first 7ish mins off the match then we basically stopped trying to keep the ball whatsoever.... rest of the half was pretty putrid... stoke had loads of the ball but played w limited tempo and created basically no chances we only have 3 ways as a team to have any possession- (i) chair gets the ball and basically dribbles/uses his ball retention skills long enough to let others get involved in play, (ii) a speculative long ball results in a second ball that sticks or (iii) armstrong runs behind without armstrong, we basically only have 2 ways to keep the ball- the first is asking too much on chair who has to hold onto the ball for a long time while opposition defenders surround him (and he has no one to pass to)....the second way is also speculative as theres no one near dykes to support him/win a second ball
Stoke City Match Thread. on 15:58 - Apr 29 with 1781 views | themodfather | ok, 0-0 at HT , sounds tight but also that we are defending well. great support , again, the rollercoaster goes on, with reading/wigan drawing too. we would be safe if it stays like that but likely many twists to come in the next 45. COME ON YOU R;S
