Just had a quick look at the squad, and who is contracted for next season:
Contracted for 2022/23 Sam Graham - Summer 2023 Max Taylor - Summer 2023 Aidy White - Summer 2023
Liam Kelly - Summer 2023 Conor Grant - Summer 2023 Jimmy Keohane - Summer 2023 James Ball - Summer 2024 Ethan Brierley - January 2024
Abraham Odoh - Summer 2023 Luke Charman - Summer 2024 Tahvon Campbell - Summer 2024
Out of Contract Joel Coleman Jay Lynch Brad Wade
Jim McNulty Eoghan O'Connell Jeriel Dorsett (loan expires) Joe Dunne Corey O’Keeffe Paul Downing (loan expires) Max Clark
George Broadbent (loan expires) Stephen Dooley Alex Newby
Josh Andrews (loan expires) Danny Cashman (loan expires) Matt Done
10 players contracted, 17 either out of contract or loan expiring. I half expect us to try and sign Broadbent & Dorsett permanently, but one thing is for certain - 2022/2023 will be a fully Stockdale squad. Out of everybody in contract for next season only Keohane & Grant are survivors from the BBM era! Hopefully the rumoured increased playing budget, coupled with a more settled club and experience from this season, will see a more competitive team next season.
It needs to be remembered that the players we’ve let go played in a struggling team last season and didn’t rip up any trees, man of the match awards or not. If people just want signings for signings sake then that’s fine as long as they don’t moan about it when results don’t go our way.

You have a point, but you can be a good player in a struggling team - we've seen it plenty of times in the past, particularly in the few years prior to Hill's first appointment.
I'm not panicking by any stretch (as I pointed out on Twitter, we didn't sign a single player until July 29th last year so anyone worried after we've signed five by the 7th needs to take a second and take stock) and won't be doing until the season has kicked off at least, but at the same time, from the outside looking in I'd be wondering if we hadn't maybe lost 4 of our better performers last season in EOC, COK, Dorsett and Grant? I'd actually go as far as to say that in my opinion they were our four best players last season, so I can understand why there might be a bit of pessimism with us not having any of them for the next one.
I'm very much with isitme though in terms of signing the right player even if we have to wait than signing an average player just to get someone through the door early and with over three weeks to go until the season even starts and a few weeks after that in which to still make additions, there is no need to panic at all.

Put better than me like you usually do. I just really can’t understand the impatience of some and it’s annoying when they don’t consider just where we are in the football pecking order. They’d be the first to whinge if it went tits up like bury due to us signing players like kids in a sweet shop. Most of the Twitter clowns who do it though support Premier League teams so they think that’s how football at League 2 should be too.
Not a concrete enough source for me to create a new thread from it but someone I know, knows Leon Clarke and apparently he is on trial with us at the moment. Very good friends with EEL and don’t think the person who told me has any reason to lie. There will be plenty others like this and people need to be realistic with our draw as others have said.

Could do a job but would have to take one hell of a pay cut compared to what the buckets paid him.

You can amend the Ethan entry now Hull Dale. Got 2 full years more at Dale at least now (unless he has a trapdoor built in the contract and it's met in the interim - hope not).

We're delighted to announce that Ethan Brierley has signed a new deal with the club, which runs until summer of 2024 🙌
Interesting post match interview from RS today. Talks about hopefully getting two players in during the early part of next week and a couple of others as well. The fact that he says that a lot of clubs aren’t sending players out on loan as they are on preseason tours at the moment and need cover as a result is significant I suppose.
Encouraging words regarding signings early next week. It’s open to interpretation but I think RS is talking two permanent signings with potentially another two, plus loan players towards the end of pre-season?
We are light on bodies but three or four permanent signings, supplemented with loan signings should have us where we need to be come the start of the season.
On a frivolous note, was that a slip of the tongue by RS when he talked about clubs being on preseason tours to Portugal? Apparently Sunderland are in the Algarve…..

So are Sheffield United where we loaned players from last season.

Our youth lads are in Portugal at the moment

I also think a lot of people have forgotten we made three permanent signings in January, with a nod to this season.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
And now we are 18, plus Jim McNulty. Another signing and a couple of loans maybe? Perhaps we might also take on a couple of youngsters who have been released by other clubs who Stockdale thinks might become assets in the future?
With the signing of Henderson we have forwards who predominantly play centrally. I wonder if that's an indication that primarily we will be playing 352 with two up front rather than 343 with two inside forwards and one up top?
