So then...forum aside this site has become a little bit of a walking disaster over the last year (and more) as someone pointed out the other day the site rarely gets updated with news since the last writer got fed up of the abuse of doing so..!
Anyway, the good (!) news is that I have a couple of people prepared to write and I have some time that I can devote to it again. What I dont want to happen is the site to become a regurgitation of news elsewhere although news elsewhere can of course create opinion articles.
The question though is what do you - the good readers of Planet Swans (or as seems to be the one person with endless usernames) - want to see from the site going forward? |  | | |  |

There is no reason why you would feasibly want to ban anyone who uses multiple usernames
Especially as you have nothing to base that proof on other than some spurious things that you as a moderator can see in the background. And the same information that I told you categorically over the weekend should not be put into the public domain (i.e. IP addresses which do not prove the existence of a multiple username)
It is not a case of you not knowing what I want it is more a case of you just deciding to enforce something that you personally don't like but to most of the watching public we can step away from because this is - after all - just an internet forum to discuss a variety of topics
And for the record I couldn't give two hoots what other sites have as ways of dealing with things - many football forums will ban any non football chat. As someone else pointed out it is part of the "charm" of this site |

Well I was in work today trying to deal with customers and mod this place at the same time,so it's impossible sometimes to respond to requests quickly.

He was found out to be using another user name himself and being hypocritical by his own admittance.
That's not fair on the site or other posters on here....on most sites multi usernames are discourag ed by a soft or hard ban. That's how it s.

So seriously, you have to think long and hard about editing a disgusting post by one poster, who, if any bans should be issued, would not still be poster his insults on here now, but still it continues this afternoon against myself and others..
Meanwhile, another poster who had the temerity to use multiple usernames and start a thread about the same, is threatened with a banning warning if he doesn't pull his head in ?

Sorry I am not in the habit of using such vile language on here or in real life, so whilst it may be deemed "part of culture" it doesn't make it acceptable.
No one is asking you to police it all the time - however it is expected that Mods take action when offence is highlighted to them
Of course you should modify the post, and warn the person to modify their use of language
I have not put anyone on ignore (as far as I know) and still leave the avenue open to have sensible debate or banter with The Res or anyone else.
As for give it right back, if I posted that someone was as he described in his post, I'd expect to be banned or at the very least see the post modified, as the Mods did with the Spurs one |
