Ye not exactly tearing the defence apart! but you can see from the Madrid video how he could be very useful asset to a Swansea team. Sure there are areas to iron out. But then name a Swans player who doesn't have any short comings! at 4M i think he is easily worth a punt. He has the ability to beat top level full backs by himself. Not many player can do that in the prem. He definitely needs to learn to hold on to the ball a lot more. Thats fore sure.
I agree. I hope we can mould him to become a player who'd work well here.
Shelvey showed signs during the middle of the season of this, where he stopped the idiotic long balls everytime he received the ball and instead played more to the 'Swansea Way' but then towards the end of the season he reverted to his wanabee Steven Gerrard self.
Let's hope both Shelvey and Montero can adapt to our style next season.
Why are we so sure he has signed anyway? The daily mirror?!
There are a number of other sources and Twitter that are normally fairly accurate in reporting Gomis and Bony before they signed on Twitter. The news appears to be coming from south america too.
Hope they're not all getting it of the Mirror though.

I quite like Shelvey hitting the odd long pass. Has it in his locker and gives us different options going forward. Although agree he does need to learn when to play it and when to keep it simple.

I agree. Although it probably doesn't help him when his captain does it numerous times per game also.
This is the game I was referring too on my first post. If you can find his games in the World Cup Qualifier against Brazil and Argentina you will notice he tore them apart too.

Wow, he looks fast as ferk..like the look of him a lot..
I suppose that ends our interest in Payet, shame as he looks quality, ain't seen much on Montero
I don't see why that would end our interest in Payet.
This squad is looking rich in quality but numbers wise I think we lack cover in defensive and strike positions ....we all realise 3 or 4 may yet leave us too

If we do get the other one I would say that would make emnes move to stiker position (3rd choice) or AM. Would also give us 2 wingers each side. Should be enough throughout the season

If we got Payet and Montero we would have our strongest offensive line probably of all time. If we could get a good RB and Besic and keep Bony we could be looking at 8th next season
Each time I go to Bedd - au........................

Top 10 based on team talent - definitely! Going to be an exciting season if these transfers are tied up!

It would be a great offensive roster, that's for sure.
I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.
Telegraph article on Davies/Sigurdsson says Montero is virtually a done deal:
Montero, who plays for the Mexican side Monarcas Morelia, is also regarded as virtually a done deal, with some haggling over the final fee expected to be resolved in time for the winger to join up with the Swansea squad this week.
