Because it will be based on a lot more than just three games, it's not that we'll be ignoring the World Cup but we shouldn't be judging players purely based on three games at a World Cup.
I don't think that's the best example. Ronaldo has just won the EC, playing for Real Madrid. We have a small idea of his true ability at the top level.

Because he's playing in a system that he's more familiar with and alongside players the he trains with every day. Not to mention you have 30+ games to look at for his club compared to a handful of games for his country.

All well and good chap, but we're talking about the Mexican league, 30 games there is hardly the rock of reputation that you're alluding to, which is my point.
Mexico only played 4 games mun, you have to look at them for 30 games for their club.

And by play, I mean turn up and be effective behind the ball.
