I find this comment rather odd although it does fit with my mental picture of you as an overexcited journalist waiting for glimpses of celebrities on the red carpet.
I would expect most fans to be nervously awaiting a new manager should that be decided. There's no guarantee he'll do well.

Silence on the OS? What does that even mean? Are you expecting daily updates from Huw on what he thinks of the situation?
As this forum, I've seen a lot of praise for GM, and a lot of over blown rubbish when we didn't beat Palace. Nothing out of the norm really. Nothing to suggest everyone's sitting back waiting for another manager either.

I don't spend all my time on here but right now I am happy with how things are going. The next game versus WBA will be a truer reflection of how Monk is doing. He's had a baptism of fire and needs more patience from us. Laudrup had plenty of patience directed his way, over 11 months of it! | |

Hang on, though - the OS hasn't mentioned that we're interested in Clement yet. Something up, surely?
If we were interested in him, wouldn't the Board have spoken to him about it behind the scenes and, if that had happened, I'm sure it would have been reported on the OS. They clearly have no faith in him either.

When responses to threads are negative the writer often says I thought we were here to voice opinions not to be shouted down by others with a different opinion.
They are right. But I really don't understand the point of this one. In fact it's an exercise in pointlessness. 'Silence from the official site' ? Silence very often means there's nothing to say. GM has been in charge for 8 games now. I'm certain the board said 'we'll appoint GM till the end of the season and then discuss who to appoint permanently'. Why would they say anything now before the end of the season.
The other poll thread asking for votes on the next manager is asking for opinions and that makes sense. This one doesn't.

I'm interested how you come to that conclusion.
Monk has had 8 games, in those games our performance and effort have been far above where they were in the preceding 11 months. The only thing missing is more wins. But taking the average from the league games, it's better than Laudrup was doing, if only because the performances are better, Palace aside in the second half because the circumstances are unusual.
Monk is still learning. If things continue the way they are then I'm sure he'll prove you wrong.
What I don't understand is why people who are adamant Laudrup is hard done by after 11 months of poor performances and results, are so ready to write Monk off after just 8 games. Maybe it's still all about Laudrup for them. If so they really need to move on, he's gone, he's not coming back. Move on FFS!! | |
