Millers match on Boxing Day called off
Millers match on Boxing Day called off

County's home game against Rotherham United on Boxing Day has fallen victim to the harsh cold weather the whole of the UK has been encountering, as an inspection by a local based referee deemed that the surface will be unplayable.

The Football League were happy for an early inspection to take place despite the game being three days away, and referee Trevor Massey has decided to call the game off as the pitch is still frozen in places despite being covered up and there is little chance of a thaw as temperatures are set to remain below freezing over the next few days.

Two other matches in League Two have fallen victim to the weather as well, as Bradford's game against Chesterfield and Macclesfield's game against Morecambe have also been called off following early inspections.

The Hatters are next in action on Tuesday (28th December) as they travel to Barnet and once again that match will probably be in doubt as conditions are set to remain the same for the next few days with fresh snow expected to fall early next week. If the game is in doubt then hopefully an early inspection will take place to save a wasted journey for the Hatters fans who are planning to make the long journey to Underhill.
