No pitch inspection planned ahead of Saturday's game Thursday, 2nd Dec 2010 14:49 Saturday's opponents Northampton Town have confirmed that no pitch inspection is currently planned ahead of our visit to Sixfields. So far nine matches in the Football League have fallen victim to the wintry weather, although the Cobblers are confident that our own game won't fall victim to the weather. Football games all over the country have been affected by the recent snow, as two games have already been postponed in the Championship along with two games in League One and five matches in League Two. Town have had covers on their pitch since Monday and although these are currently covered in snow, they say that the playing surface underneath is playable. They confirm that no pitch inspection is planned ahead of the game although this could of course change should the area be hit by further wintry weather. Games currently off: CHAMPIONSHIP Doncaster v Barnsley Sheffield United v Reading LEAGUE ONE Hartlepool v Southampton Peterborough v Yeovil LEAGUE TWO Aldershot v Bradford Crewe v Wycombe Gillingham v Rotherham Port Vale v Stevenage Southend v Macclesfield Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
