For me it's a battle of the Walsh's.

I can't pick between Ruby's mount On his own or his siters mount Seabass.

Cheers guys, some good info here. For those that dont like/agree with the Grand National, they have made some big improvements again (Shortend the race, changed the start, changed the materials of the hurdles etc.)for this year and hopefully all will get round safely.

I once saw a horse break it's leg on the flat. It was an odds on favourite, sadly for the horse and sadly for us as I layed it (was proper odds on) It can happen anytime.

If you 'layed' an odds on favourite that lost, surely you were happy? Horses death apart obviously. You're talking about Harbinger I presume?

I think the National is quite tough this year. I like the trend following but it's not bomb proof. They're all about 8/10, so an exception % of 20% for each.

Possible selections - still unsure - but ones I'm currently considering

On His Own looks a very big possibility - right age, right weight, best jockey and good trainer who rates him higher than Hedgehunter (who he won with)

Teafortree is a horse I like. Ran 2nd in the Welsh National as favourite (think he had AP on though then), won at Cheltenham in '12 and a good jumper. Just about the right weight. Bombed last time out though. Hopefully a one off. Would like some rain, I think too.

Cappa Bleu - stays, good jumper, decent jockey. A little on the old side but battle hardened experience. Has a great record of being in the hunt in races and placing.

Balthazar King - Right age, weight, good jockey, decent trainer, and in cracking form having won the X-Country at Cheltenham. Interesting

Colbert Station - Right age, right weight and interesting AP McCoy chose him over Sunnyhillboy. Good record.

Chicago Grey - Right age and very low weight. Good jockey but been mixed this season.

The Rainbow Hunter - Seems very highly priced for a horse that fits the trends. Jumping is a bit suspect but will go better on the good ground there'll be. If you want a big priced outsider for a bit of fun, I'd look no further.

We would have made more not covering ourselves but to be fair you can't really account for that.
I cant rememer it's name about 1-6 on there was serious money on it and it went round the bend away from the grandstand and it's leg just broke very weird.
