jason kennedy 19:05 - Mar 31 with 5648 views | mizfit | what do people see in JK people keep saying player of the season, should be playing at a higher level etc but i dont see whats so special about him he makes the 3 yard pass look spectacular. thats all he does hes your typical run of the mill centre midfielder doesnt offer anything more than any other CM we could get in should he go
jason kennedy on 19:07 - Mar 31 with 3492 views | stuartcryer | his 3 yard pass is normally to a player wearing same shirt that cant be said for many others in team

jason kennedy on 19:09 - Mar 31 with 3480 views | 442Dale | It was also quite rubbish how he won the ball back and cleverly drew a challenge from the defender for the penalty.

jason kennedy on 19:09 - Mar 31 with 3467 views | sweetcorn | It's well documented i've never believed the kennedy hype, but hes been ok this season, at least he can pass the ball to a blue shirt. Wouldn't be too disappointed if he was to leave.

He has to be one of our most overhyped players ever, I can't believe he got MOM today as well but saying that Jordan has one to his name for one of the worst performances I've ever seen

think people are easily pleased. I would say the fact he is our 'star player' explains why we are in the position we are in. limited passing ability. i.e his passing range is 3-5 yards, after that he struggles and often plays the headless chicken role for me.

Easily pleased! He's been the best player this season for dale by far

Someone who specialises in short passes and running around with no real aim or role. That would be like for like.

Constant as in he's played the majority of the games? Comparing him with anyone this season is absolutely pointless, Jones outshone him last year by a country mile and I don't remember anything spectacular the year before that. Kennedy is a decent player but people make him out to be the second coming of Christ himself...

Nothing spectacular apart from being part of some of the best football we've played? Alongside Taylor, we had a base to tear teams apart. Jones outshone him on goals alone last year. His form, again, was consistently good. Not sure why we can't compare him this year. It's noticeable that when JK is poor we really suffer, look at the recent defeats.

Kennedy is very rarely directly involved in any meaningful attack, apart from playing a 5 yard pass perhaps a minute before the build up. Jones was our driving force last year, he contributed so much more than just goals and was without a doubt our standout midfielder if not player. We can't compare anyone this year, everyone's been below par but if Kennedy continuing to play his 5 yard passes counts as good form then yes he's been our best player. On that basis he's been poor all season then, look at the season's results as a whole (he's played pretty much every game)

100% agree with your post 442. He does the simple things well and every decent teams needs a player like JK in it. The way he chased down a lost cause on the bye line, turned his man and won the penalty was one of the best pieces of play i have seen from a Dale player all season. JC should make Grimes sit in a dark room and watch that footage for hours on end, its what you expect your forward playerd to do, sadly they dont !!

Kennedy won the penalty today. He carried the ball forward from deep before laying off to Symes for the penalty v Oldham. He also played in Tutte to cross for the second. He scored after a well timed run for a header at Carlisle. His forward run and shot led to Grimes' first v Bury. That's five meaningful attacks, off the top of the head, since Coleman took over.

He did well for the penalty, very well, it was a great bit of play. Apart from that he was a poor again. I would say out of those, two are 'meaningful attacks' and without getting pedantic, I disagree with a lot of what you've put, especially playing in Tutte. I think I've seen Kennedy run 20 plus yards maybe twice this season, most of what he does is 5 yards sideways passing. He also doesn't shoot enough and I've already give my two cents about this. All of what I see is what is to be expected of an average midfielder.

What else do you disagree with? Not sure an attack can be anymore meaningful than ending up in a goal! He ran 20 yards plus for that Symes penalty and the Grimes goal. Are these the only two occasions?

I'd expect any footballer at this level to put the header away so I disregard that as a point...the same with the pass to Tutte The two runs I agree with, he contributed (Joneseque) My argument is to do with the fact that I'd expect this of a professional footballer at this level. Anyone who doesn't do what Kennedy does should just be considered as a passenger and to be fair I think he's had his fair share of poor games this season as has everyone
