January Transfer Thread 13:27 - Dec 23 with 94384 views | KeithHaynes | Done some asking and Oli McBurnie is most certainly up for a loan back to the UK this window. I’ve been told four Championship clubs are interested. This will all fall on the fee’s involved plus he is on in the region of €36,000 a week. Big numbers but we know how these things can be negotiated. Do we have the money ? Yes. P&S will need to be positive and only the club really know where we are with that at this moment in time, It won’t be massively healthy. Oli has played fourteen games for Las Palmas this season with no return. He has never been a prolific striker, but could he settle into Luke’s team ?

If he was coming in to replace Joe Allen or Fulton then I would be happy to see that but didn't see him as an attacking midfielder. I don't think he brings that creativity or goalscoring ability to make a difference in the final 3rd. If as I read, we are after an attacking midfielder and a winger then they need to be lads who can bring goal contributions and goals, I always look around a minimum of 7/8 goals over a 30/40 game period in these types of positions. |
You’ve got a bit more time with Fulton in a Swans shirt 🫣

He isn't a bad player but certainly frustrating. Every time he plays, he is in the team that has Grimes alongside him. I would like to see him in a team that doesn't have Grimes and we might see better from him........or probably not 😂

Fulton is awful, next time we play, just watch him, he runs around like a headless chicken, never anywhere near the ball, always getting in others players way, when he does get the ball he makes that safe pass, then doesn't move into space, he has gone backwards at a massive rate, whoever sanctioned the extension to his contract wants hanging, drawing and quartering. January Transfer Thread on 10:50 - Jan 23 by union_jack | I scratch my head wondering how on earth other clubs can afford to buy in the way they do. Especially ‘that lot’ who seem to be able to afford much more even though their crowds are minuscule every week. Apparently it has something to do with Tan absorbing the debt personally and writing it off. How that works, God only knows. Of course, you are right but we need to be more clever possibly in how we do business and maybe there are ‘back doors’ to this whole FFP issue we’ve not exploited due to lack of experience. I’ve no idea really but your bottom line is on point. |
Well it seems that those with a sugar daddies who is able to absorb any losses is the loophole around FFP or PSR, that loophole door needs to be slammed shut, how can you have a level playing field with clubs with sugar daddies undermining the whole process. The club needs to employ an out and out experienced Football Administrator who knows the British game inside out and who knows how to play the system around FFP and PSR, there must be ways and means around some of it, someone of Trevor's ilk would be the answer.
