January Transfer Thread 13:27 - Dec 23 with 94615 views | KeithHaynes | Done some asking and Oli McBurnie is most certainly up for a loan back to the UK this window. I’ve been told four Championship clubs are interested. This will all fall on the fee’s involved plus he is on in the region of €36,000 a week. Big numbers but we know how these things can be negotiated. Do we have the money ? Yes. P&S will need to be positive and only the club really know where we are with that at this moment in time, It won’t be massively healthy. Oli has played fourteen games for Las Palmas this season with no return. He has never been a prolific striker, but could he settle into Luke’s team ?

I think there’s a huge difference if I’m right in my thinking. The previous owners had an investment fund to answer to whether the current owners are single investors. They’re not going to be silly with their money, nobody should expect that but they’ll be a little more liberal in the hope that they strike gold (PL). Even with no signings to date, I’ve got a lot more faith in this current ownership group BUT they need help in the ins and outs of running a football club.

They need to be brutal and move on Darling for a fee. They will hope for some Whittaker and Joseph sell on cash and a little latitude with Azeem leaving.

Williams scuppered their plans with his ill thought comments? Now perhaps they will have to wait until the summer to see how he does.

Trevor was the best Football administrator we've had at the club and he could see the way things going, he was head hunted in the end granted, but he wouldn't have stayed that much longer dealing with that pair of Beauts, he was never gonna win with their agenda and narrative, he was on a hiding to nothing.

January Transfer Thread on 13:26 - Jan 22 by OptimisticJack | Darling will now have a 3 match ban. Cabango looked as if he was carrying a niggle. Centre half position needs addressing immediately. We have messed around for too long. This position is now of critical importance. ( I politely made my feelings known on this to Mr Coleman last night). |
Darling may never Donna swan’s shirt again then

morning Union, you have some valid points but unless they the new owners step up we are going to be in trouble pretty quick, the promises made by their chairman to date have not materialised and with out doubt they are losing the bulk of the fan base as last tuesdays crowd showed never over 13000 there in reality, the manager has not helped the situation with his comments over W B A i agree but our squad is threadbare and i think everyone was expecting the new guys to bring in some quality to improve the situation, F F P does not help but clubs in a far worse situation are doing it even our pals up the road who are way futher in debt than we are just brought in a 3 mill player , whilst not absolving the manager fully he can only pick after watching in training what we have and compared to other clubs in this div we have not got a lot, the chairman and board plus whoever is sorting transfers has approx 12 days to redeem themselves in my eyes as if not the downwards trend will continue But with nothing coming from the club not got much expectation at the moment as it feels like K & L are still running the show as nothing has changed

This is your perception. He brought in Cooper who was a solid manager. What else did he do? Trev is great Gude is a plonker is your narrative based on what? Trevor had the whole squad fists in the air in front of a "Black Lives Matter " logo. The club aligned with BLM defunding the police and promoting communal matriarch living.

Cooper was far from a solid manager, his record was youth team level and it was a gamble that didn't fail but looking back could have been so much better.

got us closer to the PL than any other recent manager.... Given his only other experience was at youth level he stepped up well. Whereas despite all his successors previous EFL experience they couldn't cut it here. Makes you wonder is it the environment at the club? Look at last years failure Duff currently has Huddersfield riding high in LG 1 currently playoff contenders having recently beaten high flying Wycombe away from home. Why is is managers such as Duff and Williams whi were fairly successful at their previous clubs "fail" here? [Post edited 23 Jan 10:15]

I scratch my head wondering how on earth other clubs can afford to buy in the way they do. Especially ‘that lot’ who seem to be able to afford much more even though their crowds are minuscule every week. Apparently it has something to do with Tan absorbing the debt personally and writing it off. How that works, God only knows. Of course, you are right but we need to be more clever possibly in how we do business and maybe there are ‘back doors’ to this whole FFP issue we’ve not exploited due to lack of experience. I’ve no idea really but your bottom line is on point.

Any foreign players who don't qualify for a WP but meet criteria as a non WP player can be signed from Jan 29th.

January Transfer Thread on 13:53 - Jan 23 with 726 views | AnotherJohn | The story about Swansea interest in Luke Cundle leaves me underwhelmed. I thought he was pretty anonymous during his previous loan spell with us. Wolves could well be in the Championship next year, and it seems they have concluded that he is not good enough for their team.

Yep to lightweight for me, we need a more physical box to box midfielder

I like Luke Cuddle, tidy and efficient midfielder but more of an holding player rather than an attacking option.....reminds me a lot of Tom Carroll. If he was coming in to replace Joe Allen or Fulton then I would be happy to see that but didn't see him as an attacking midfielder. I don't think he brings that creativity or goalscoring ability to make a difference in the final 3rd. If as I read, we are after an attacking midfielder and a winger then they need to be lads who can bring goal contributions and goals, I always look around a minimum of 7/8 goals over a 30/40 game period in these types of positions.
