So much to marvel at but could send me into a deep well of despondency resulting in the polishing off of an unfinished bottle of Chivas Regal. Those that went away that season say it wasn't Carrow Road but the afternoon at Bramall Lane what done us. And I’ll leave it to XTC to expound upon the Upton Park hypothesis.

Yes In the game as Arsenal DC and Stan are wearing the season before 73/74 shirt with a collar. Lots of footage I've not seen before. [Post edited 22 Apr 2020 20:23]

Rewind 75/76 on 20:22 - Apr 22 with 3939 views | CamberleyR | I think I've asked this before but does anyone know when we should have played West Ham at Upton Park originally at the start of the season? The game was shifted to 4th Round FA Cup day as we both got knocked out in the third round. I'm guessing about March time? Anybody with a programme from one of the early games in the season? Most of us know it was the only first division game that day and we lost 1-0 to a pretty awful Hammers team when most other days that season we'd have comfortably beaten them.

Weeeell.... The West Ham away game was going to be our last game of the season having, I think, been moved from the Easter weekend as Rangers generally did that. Apparently the League made a rule where if you moved any of the Easter games they had to be played within the Easter fortnight. Also West Ham were in the Cup Winners Cup so had to be fit around any potential games that West Ham May have then, which they eventually did have. With Rangers and West Ham having both been knocked out of the FA Cup at the third round both were then free on the day of the fourth round and Rangers thought that playing West Ham that day could let them do a bit of catch up when the rest of the Division were otherwise engaged or not playing. We then went and lost. And also lost the chance of winning the league at Upton Park. [Post edited 22 Apr 2020 20:59]

Interesting interview with him here https://thefootballpost.weebly.com/premier-league.html# I'd forgotten all about the punch on Bowles at Norwich. How that wasn't sending off I'll never know.
Rewind 75/76 on 21:36 - Apr 22 with 3744 views | BrianMcCarthy | Delighted I watched it. Great to see so much new footage of Francis. From those clips he stood out as exceptional. In the interviews he's the same ol' Gerry, not shy of telling us his achievements! (Gerry, did you captain England by any chance?) That Wolves-Liverpool game... We had moved back to Ireland in June '75. I remember me and my Dad listening to that game on crackly BBC radio. And crying.

Rewind 75/76 on 21:37 - Apr 22 with 3738 views | flynnbo | A couple of days ago on the 20th of April, BT Sport were showing many of Liverpool's games from the 1970s. Second game in was our away game there in the 76/77 seaspn where we lost 3-1 conceding 2 goals in the last 8 minutes having taken the lead through a Peter Eastoe header. It looked a horrible, freezing cold foggy day and the Scousers' second goal by Keegan looked well offside but then again it was at the Kop end so it naturally stood.
Rewind 75/76 on 21:40 - Apr 22 with 3717 views | 2Thomas2Bowles | Maybe we really lost it in the first half of the season, too many away losses. Then 27 points from 30, undefeated at home, most goals scored, the greatest team not to win the league. Said it before, a footballing tragedy.

That first game v Liverpool and his goal (GOTS) That pitch was perfect like you would see today, imagine if that team the way they played had today's pitches.

with the lockdown and all that I've been working on a little project to start a youtube channel looking at old games and putting together tributes to players, I had a ton of old videos and dvd's gathering dust so finally going to do something with them, i've not gone live with it yet but having great fun watching all the old footage. Quite comical seeing the state of the pitches and the passing football us and many other teams were playing back then, the skill level was ridiculous.
