I kid you not, it is starting to hit twitter.

Some Portuguese paper is saying that it is happening.

Poll: Are the owners doing enough for Swansea City

Not sure who exactly people expect to come here and sit on the bench for us? Not a lot of quality players would, and the ones that would aren't worth the money. Tell you something, if we sent a reserve striker out on loan to forest last season and he'd bagged 9 goals, we'd absolutely want him to be on the bench/near the first team this season and get his chance show what he can do in games. I don't think this is terrible business if the fee is low.

Yeah I'd agree with that... as long as he's not first choice.

Absolutely - it's imperative we get a first team striker in, Huw said we were in for 2 strikers minimum (and that's without replacing Ayew if he goes). Honestly wouldn't mind Oliveira coming in as back up.

9 goals in 28 apps for Notts Forest.

He would be ok as a back up, grew on me a lot of his time here.

But for that to work we need to go out and sign a genuine top first choice, and i just dont see that sort of money being spent

"Michu, Britton and Williams could have won 3-0 on their own. They wouldn't have required a keeper."

I honestly hope this isn't who they had in mind when they told Gylfi that players were on their way.
A player who couldn't break double figures in the Championship obviously isn't going to do it in the Premiership either.
Like my school report - Must. Do. Better!

But did they tell Siggy which way players were on their way?

Not a bad back up at all. A season in the championship would have done him wonders too.

Never let us down when playing always putting in a shift. No problem with this signing.

He usually does - eventually.

If we're throwing him in the mix to go with another new striker and Ayew I have no problem with this.

When I first seen the thread I thought it was a joke... But you know what, this is exactly the form HJ has shown for years now and yet some think he's a genius? Smacks of an emnes, an ngog, a bessone and that's without even mentioning the tabanous or eders.

It's getting beyond now how he's/they are getting away with what appears to be gross incompetence... We were sold the line that we need investment to move forward yeah right. If it was a case of we need to get rid of players and start a fresh as it were, then why were we not doing this straight after the euros whilst signing the replacements?

Still we get pound shop signings!

Smacks of desperation, lack of scouting and next to zero imagination.

"Let's get that bloke back who was barely decent for us" has replaced "let's get that bloke who had a good game against us."

Progress?

The blog sites say we have offered a better deal than three or four Championship teams who are interested. That is about Oliviera's level in my opinion, but I'm not convinced the story holds water. Hopefully it is just a smokescreen and we have other targets. Relegation odds 7/2 now.

I don't think he's a bad player as a back up. He's only early twenties and I was surprised when we didn't keep him before.

If we are bringing in Llorente, someone young like Oliviera (together with McBurnie) could learn a lot.

I'd like to see us bring in someone like Baston as well (and a wider player if Ayew goes). Give us a bit of flexibility then.

24 is early twenties isn't it? Mid twenties then if you prefer. Young player was my point - only a year older than Barrow and everyone thinks of him as a kid.

Yet we're allegedly signing him now.

The Nelson Riddle?

Maybe Monk didn't rate him. Which is certainly a tick.

Lovely doc on Frank S the other night btw talking of Nelson Riddle :-)

6 days to being 25 is early twenties. Oh good. Must mean I'm early middle-age as well.

What age is middle-twenties then?

Heresy to some but I've never rated FS. Give me Tony Bennett or Dino any day.

Nelson RIddle was undoubtedly one of the great arrangers though.

I don't see the merit in signing someone like this even as a backup striker when the likes of HRK is free.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Well I still regard myself as mid forties so you can do one

And I said mid twenties if you prefer! It doesn't really change the point. He's not 28 or 29 and at his peak.
