you would hope the club will have a word with the people who are selling the tickets at thoseprices about what they are doing but somehow I doubt it very much indeed. its simple buy and extra season ticket and punt it out for the big six games and make a large amount of money on top o it

They are not calculated by anyone. It's simply season ticket holders being greedy and opportunistic

Yes they are, but the club must be taking some extra profits from Viagogo as well

Official touting is completely and utterly different from normal touting where clubs don't get a cut. This is deeply ethical. I know people who'd bang out their tickets for Man Utd and Liverpool every year, and that would cover the rest of their season ticket and a couple of away days.

One word “Unlicensed” If you've laid your money out for a season ticket, can't make a game why on earth would you not try and get the best price for it back if someone is willing to pay it? I sold mine and the wife's for Liverpool last time out, we were away at Xmas the game was on TV... we got walloped and were 3-0 down at half time. I had £250.00 in my sky and felt it was the best piece of business I'd done all year. [Post edited 30 Sep 2014 15:35]

Exactly. We had 4 seats in front of us for our last season in the Premiership, all with the same name on and not once did we see the same person turn up twice. Just a new set of tourists every time It can't be that difficult for the club to spot this sort of thing

People will pay anything. I've recently seen Almeria v Barca tickets out there on Viagogog whatever it's called, for £700, about 900 Euro. Last season the ground was almost empty, so someone somewhere has learned and I have just sussed out I can get a box office ticket for 90 Euro in the week before the game. It would have been cheaper to fly to Barcelona for a weekend. However Barca are the devils spawn currently so I think I will just watch it in a local bar and wait for Real/Inter Madrid or Seville instead.

its up to the individual what he/she does with their ticket/s. If they cant afford a season ticket so they want to reclaim the cost back by selling it for the popular games who can blame them, the club still get the money. Edit-just because someone wants £200 doesn't mean that's what they are going to get [Post edited 30 Sep 2014 15:40]

Disgusting on 16:17 - Sep 30 with 3572 views | SonofNorfolt | The funny thing is that the tickets are meant to be non transferable, that is of course unless the club are making a little profit out of it. Illegal to put football tickets on Ebay, but you can sell 'em via Viagogo. That's fine then. The club are complicit in touting. Why do you think people were duped into believing that the Septics had the most fans at the WC? They sold the most tickets, because there was nothing to stop them selling them on which they did in their thousands.
Disgusting on 16:52 - Sep 30 with 3471 views | stowmarketrange | Unfortunately I can't make the game as my Daughters football team have a game starting at 10.30 on that day.As I'm her manager,I tried to rearrange it for the following Sunday, but the league in their wisdom, slotted a cup game in instead,so there is no chance of being there in W12. I will be putting our 2 tickets in the lower loft on Viagogo because just this once I don't fancy giving them to a mate for free, and I don't want to virtually give them away to someone I don't know, only to see them being sold on there by someone else. I preferred the old system where the club resold them for you,but they have decided to adopt Viagogo and allow Sky to have 4 consecutive home games live on tv. But I won't be selling them at ridiculous prices though. Any genuine QPR fan with a membership would have been able to get a ticket through the official website anyway,so I really don't care if some tourist is willing to pay silly money for their ticket.

You are definatly not at fault here, but you should not be able to profit from non attendance. You are merely a customer (or client according to ST) and club doesn't care less if you are 30 years supporter or a Korean tourist. Either way the money still has the Queen's head on it.

If you really want a ticket to a home game you can become a member and that will pretty much guarantee you getting one to any game you choose so long as you make the effort to get in early after they go on sale. Even if you don't have membership you probably know someone who does who can sort you out at face value. Or of course if funds/time permit you can buy a season ticket guaranteeing a ticket. For the most part the people paying silly money will be those who either couldn't be bothered to sort it out early enough and have enough money not to care - talking about whoever is willing to pay circa £300 for a couple of tickets. I've got other things that will take priority from time to time and if I can't get there why shouldn't I make a profit it there's the option to do so - I've not sold a ticket on there yet, but will have no qualms if and when I do. Incidentally if I thought that if buyng off viagog was the only way of getting a ticket for desperate long term loyal supporters down on their luck who couldn't afford a season ticket then I would have a very different attitude. But it isn't so if some moron wants to pay £200 a ticket to watch us then more fool them and the beers are on me at the next game.

That sums it up nicely. Nobody forces you to buy from Viagogo and most matches are on TV. Nothing disgusting aboutit. Its the market.
