Young Players
at 23:07 1 May 2019

We thought it may be the case this season, but looks even more likely next season that we're going to have to rely on a lot of our younger players. And our fanbase seems to be split down the middle between those that call out poor performances of our young, and those that think they need to be protected from this and nurtured a little more

I definitely don't like fans tearing into players either at games or online - I think we need to SUPPORT them as much as possible, but is there a danger that we are too protective, or hold many of them in too high esteem? How much nurture does a player need to be a decent Championship player? Don't they just need to have the correct attributes and attitude?

There are young players playing at higher levels with higher pressure than having to achieve a mid table finish in the Championship yet many of us (I include myself) jump to the defence of players like Joe Lumley, Darnell Furlong and Ebere Eze when they go through prolonged periods of indifferent form.

Not quite sure what point I'm trying to make is, but I suppose I'm interested to know how long you all think these players along with Chair, Smyth, Manning, Shodipo etc will be considered young players being developed, and when you'd say they are the finished article - as good as they are capable of being.

Staying in the Borough
at 21:10 14 Nov 2018

We make a big deal about any new ground being as close to Loftus Road as possible. But if the only realistic option in the borough and more specifically W12 is Scrubs, should we start getting our head around moving further? Would opening the search out to the boroughs of Brent, Ealing and Hillingdon be a complete no no? Just thinking there’d be more choice, possibly cheaper land, and if you show you’re prepared to move, maybe Hammersmith and Fulham will re-evaluate our standing given all the great community work QPR are responsible for.

I have long been priced out of raising a family in Shepherds Bush, I guess many of you have too. It’s a far different place than it was 20 years ago. Would it be terrible if the club looked west in the way loads people who grew up in Shepherds Bush already have?

Just wondering really, and interested to know everyone’s thoughts

Edit - I’d obviously want the team to remain in what I see as QPR territory, but being half a mile away from current HQ wouldn’t be the only selling point to me. For example If it were 3 miles up the road but near good transport links loads of nice boozers and we could build a stadium exactly to our liking - that would probably feel like a better option than the Linford Christie site to me.

QPR Podcast

Impressed by Conor Washington on the latest Podcast. Great to hear that he's happy and that things are going his way. Seems like a bright chap too. Also though Michael Hann was a great guest. His online musings about QPR can sometimes seem a little negative or passive aggressive, but it's clear the club is dear to him. Nice work!

Read something about him going to Newcastle - if the £5m figure mentioned on the BBC website is even close to the truth, I think it highlights the good work being done by Les and Lee Hoos.

£5m for a 33 year old striker? Who scored 10 league goals last year? In the Championship?

Non QPR - where do you live?
at 21:35 9 May 2016

As seems to be case with many Londoners, me and my wife are starting to think of of moving a bit further out of town now that we have a kid. Usual reasons - decent schools, bit more green, hopefully a bigger gaff that's more affordable, know your neighbours etc.

There isn't a box to tick on rightmove that selects QPR territory, or at least near enough to Loftus rd to get there easily enough. Did any of you start in W12 and move outwards? Or did you grow up in QPR territory further out? What are the traditional QPR territories?

I know it's not the most important thing when looking at a possible new place to live, but thought it was worth an ask

QPR v Villa not on Sky?
at 19:09 4 Apr 2015

I don't think the game on Tuesday is on Sky. Does anyone know of any boozers that may be showing it regardless? Not sure I can go watch it alone!
