I think he will play him, but he needs to start scoring, he really should have done better in front of goal against West Ham,

Just to see one of our players work the opposition keeper, is good enough for me. I think once he gets a goal, he will start scoring.

Agree Nick, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about with Tall Paul. Like you say he should have done a lot better with the chances he had. He reminds me a bit of Chicken George - try’s but that’s about it.

Ivan has already said he's a decent player so almost certainly will start but cannot see him with AA as in the Hammers game He's also said that he will start scoring as he has done at previous clubs but needs time and service. We were getting the crosses in but just not good enough, but he does need to start learning how to control the ball Get that 1st goal and he'll become that "cult hero" and maybe I'll change my slightly negative view of him. But I do li=ove the way he puts the sh1ts up opposition when he gets going though

Agreed He offered more of a threat in one game than we have offered in weeks Give him a chance Play him with Archer this time Would like to see Taylor at LB

He needs more power in his heading, he needs to really attack the ball ,far too soft. He should have scored a couple against West Ham.

Criticism of him is harsh as far as I'm concerned. If you watch the highlights back I think he did a decent job with the chances on offer and very nearly scored a couple of times. Very difficult to get power when you are leaning backwards, the cross is just a soft chip from 30 yards out, or a PL level defender is unbalancing you. None of our other strikers could have done anything with those chances. He needs chances where a proper cross is pulled back from somewhere near the goal line. Either that, or play him with someone like Archer who can pick up a second ball. That was the first time in his SFC career that he has been tried in his proper role. To have a couple of near misses is a good return from 1 PL game in a new role. He may not be the greatest but he needs a decent chance to show what he can do.

A lot of damage to players has been done by our last 3 managers. Players been thrown about like confetti using ridiculous tactics. Totten Paul needs to start scoring, give him a run in the side, its not as if we have a lot of choice. If he doesn't start scoring in that time the writing is on the wall. Paul needs the fans support, just give us a goal.

Tall Paul starts, Bella-Kotchap on the bench. Bree and Wood both start. Looks a good team full of strength and aggressive, physical players. [Post edited 29 Dec 13:53]

Baffling why the the constantly ineffective Armstrong is picked over Archer?? No big Les after a solid performance against West Ham. . Bree offers very little ability in an attacking sense when we really need to be supplying Tall Paul crosses. I'd have preferred KWP on the right , Manning on the left. Downes not even on the bench. Sulemana still on the bench after yet another awful cameo off the bench against West Ham....why not Amo A? Not confident tbh.

Crystal Palace Game Matchday Thread on 14:08 - Dec 29 with 996 views | mushinexile | Isn't it encouraging to see a well considered team pick? I can see the how and why of this one and I really hope it works because this lineup looks as though it has all the strength in depth we can muster and it ought to be enough to clip the Eagles' wings. I am, like the rest of us surprised not to see Stevens start but perhaps Ivan has missed something that the previous manager picked up on:-) [Post edited 29 Dec 14:11]

That’s Bree that has scored a couple cracking goals this season. TBH the centre of middle looks as strong at as a chocolate tea pot. Fancy tall Paul to score today
