Surely the ideal partner up front for him would be another striker called Clyde.

They would know more than us having watched him week in week out but a goal every three games, in a team that got relegated, in his first ever Championship season, sixth in the division for finishing chances, doth not suggest somebody who can't put them away. But we'll see I guess.

When you create few chances, the missed ones hurt more and stick in the mind. We've all been there.

Just spoke to a Leyton Orient fan (they were non-league when they had him I think), he said missed quite a few chances but works really hard and has a good reading of the game so gets quite a few chances through this, if he could finish slightly better would be a good championship striker (and he may have improved that since being with them). Thinks he will be a good squad player for us - ie I think we will have to develop him if he is to become more than that, which at least we are in a good position to do nowdays.

Said viewed as a good character, stayed with them when he could have left midway through the season, and as said good work rate - you can see the type of player energy and work rate wise we are going for nowdays .

Good info Oak. I liked how he came across in his interview - seemed very engaged, switched on - definitely up for it.

Do you even like QPR? It seems sometimes like you don't or is it just the current set up? What would you change if you could?

The team he ‘supports’ I hope....

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

Where does that leave Ramkilde?

Similar comments to those already made from a Charlton mate who came to the 2-2 last season. Fast and strong. Sometimes an issue with being able to hit a cow's ar$e with a banjo.

Again - like the profile of the signing and like how we no longer leak like a sieve and signings only really become apparent when they're getting finalised/done

No where

He was never going to be in our first team

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Col U fans think of him as the one that got away, but when he was trying to get into the team it was when they were playing one up top and he seemed to always play wide, which isn't his game.
Playing on the shoulder of Dykes should suit him and service shouldn't be an issue. I really want to see him do well because he's a good character who won't fail from lack of effort.

Just spoke to a Charlton supporting mate who’s a season ticket holder. He said Bonne is very quick, and his work ethic is very good. He also said the same as many on here in that he misses a few chances. He said he’s still raw, but hopes he does very well for us. I mentioned that if Les Ferdinand can help the lad along and other his advice, then he could only get better. He totally agreed.

He’s delighted that they got up to £2m for him, seeing that they paid only £200k. I said that we’re hoping to do the same thing at Rangers now, although for higher fees.

I said that we should be a magnet for young up and coming players as we give them a chance if they’re good enough. My mate fully agreed and said that Rangers have a good reputation for it with other teams fans now.

I like what I'm hearing about pace, been a while since we've had a striker with any speed and it gives us options in how we play, with him and Bright being fast.

We didn't pay 2m either, despite what Charlton fans wish was true

I was hoping Sean Gallacher would give us a reassuring fee breakdown as when we were concerned about local press inflating the Dickie transfer. Alas.

It depends how much he actually knows, surely? With our management structure and (Recent) financial prudence, if we've paid decent money it's for a reason. So cheer up!

You're right, I am being fairly negative today.

We do know we're a decent - even flattering - platform for strikers so as long as we keep the chances flowing and the lad isn't a complete disaster we've a good chance of not losing money on it at the very least. And as you say, it would be very much out of recent character for the club to make a commitment like this lightly.

I think it was being reported that they turned down £1 million so we may have paid a bit more, maybe £1.2 and put in some add ons. This would mean Charlton have made a million in a year and with possibly more to come.

I am guessing it was £1.5m.

We needed to sign another striker, the window closes on Monday, True EFL is open after that, but prices go up when they know you can only shop in one country.

Charlton knew this and also knew they did not need to sell. So, they squeezed us. Fair play we do have the Eze money and everyone knows this after all.

That's £4m of Eze money we have spent on the £14.5m we actually got. Means we have £10m now for surviving the season.

Assuming BOS signs, Adomah signs, Manning is sold, we buy another LB. The squad will be full of young and hungry experienced Champ pros. To me this is the strongest squad we have had since we got promoted to the Prem. And its more future proof a squad than we have had in decades.

The only worry I have is we dont buy a really young pacy hard tackling gifted LB. And then Wallace gets injured or found out for pace later on in the campaign. Thats the only gap left I see if we do those above signings.

zzzzzzzzzz

Looks like a very clever player. He has some motor on him and his aerial ability and link up looks like a very good potential foil alongside Dykes. Now I've said that they'll probably never play as a front two... But on this evidence they should.

Never knowingly right.

Welcome to the fan-free, fake-noised, deliriously undefended good ship QPR, Macauley Miles Bonne, as it navigates these viral waters across football's parallel ocean en route to total digital dematerialisation. The fact that an anagram of your magnificent name spells out UL BE A MEAN SMILEY CON in no way betrays my anxiety about your Championship credentials. In fact, for what little I matter, I like the cut of your jib, the jib of your cut, and wish you bon(ne) chance, jour, soir and nuit in an attempt to cover all French bases.

Do any other posters have any cheery word salads with which to welcome our actual/ potential/rumoured new signings in a playfully dismal vein?

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?

A lot being spoken about the fee and it is probably fair to assume that Bonne cost half of what Wells did, both transfer fee and wages and is five years younger.
