Ok so you're the boss Saturday how would you line us up given suspensions and injuries? My concern is the bench is similar to the starting 11 and nothing to change up the style or play if it isn't going our way. Anyway I would go with the below

Never bought into 4-4-2 being more attacking.
Always liked the look of 4-2-3-1. It gives license to Hoilett and Traore to get a up the pitch a little more and they were our best players against Reading IMO.

Exactly what I thought Dave. But as you can see in my selection I went with Kranjcar for a while but definately giving Morrison some game time later.

Green is definitely in goal. There. Decided.

Ned needs to come in so we can move the shaggin' line up the shaggin' pitch. Hill's in better form than Dunne, so he loses out.

Three centre-mids has always been a must based on our options both there and at centre-back.

I like Carroll. Sure, he's patchy but I want two holding mids and he has to be one of them. There's no way I'd pick two of the other options ahead of him. I see the point about him taking too much out of the ball but I don't mind the tempo being slow in the anchor position. Tempo has to kick in further up the pitch, ideally once it hits the final third. But first we need possession, and Carroll is better at that than the others so he's in. Who plays beside him is a headscratcher.

BAE and Hughes are the full-backs.

Traore is better further forward. I'd put him on one wing with Hoilett on the other. Doyle in the middle. We need pace from the off, But Johnson's hold-up play and use of the channels is useful in the last twenty should we be looking to close a game out.

So, one holding mid and one attacking mid needed. I'd drop Kranjcar for fitness/work-rate reasons in the short-term but there's no doubt I;d want him in the 10 position if he gets his act together.

Morrison doesn't start. No mid-season should ever, ever, walk onto a team. Completely the wrong signal to him and to the squad as a unit.

If we'd have lost 1-0 to Derby or 3-1 to Reading attacking and going for it, I genuinely wouldn't mind. There's nothing wrong with losing games you deserve to lose on the day.

It's my opinion Dave! The pitch is poor, in the last 6 games O'neil has started he has been pulled off 3 times and IMO has been poor. He is lightweight and ineffective, that doesn't mean I rate Henry or Jenas but horses for courses on Saturday and those 2 sitting should allow the 3 in front abit more freedom

Carroll and O'Neill offer absolutely nothing - Jenas isn't much better but occasionally he has a good game, so i'll go for a change up.

A gamble on Ehmer purely because we need Onouha in the centre and have no other options.

No BAE or Krancjar as they have been woeful and maybe dropping them will shake them into life a bit?
