Thread | Budapest / watching the final

Hi chaps/chapesses. Will be in Budapest on Sunday, landing hopefully with a couple of hours to spare to get somewhere decent to watch it. A few google results but any recommended bars for the game from our hardened Euro travellers? Preferably one some English are likely to be at. I’m staying just to the West of the river near the Szechenyi Lanchid bridge if that means anything to anyone.
Also general Budapest recommendations? Went about a decade ago for a stag but the less remembered about that the better. |

Decent game. 1-0 SW against the run of play which I guess is good. Dozzell and Laird playing - Dozzell has taken two excellent corners but otherwise nothing of course. Even brave Tyler is on the bench. |

Yes I know, stupid to even contemplate.
Appears to be a rail replacement operating making a crap, expensive journey even crappier. Is there a way around it our train aficionados know of? I’d get an unofficial coach but I’ve been offered a corporate freebie so would look to get up early and maybe hang about for a bit after. |

Years ago I used to go in the Bloemfontein Road cafe before games and chatted with an old guy from Worthing who used to do every away match, often having to kip at Gatwick or somewhere after a northern midweeker. I know he made it through Covid but was wondering if anyone knows who I mean and if he’s still with us. I think his name is/was Bill but not sure. |

Slightly morbid maybe but my dad isn’t getting any younger and while we aren’t that close we’ve always had the mutual curse of Rangers and that’s the one thing I’ll maybe really struggle with when the time comes (hopefully some way away!)
Just wondering if anyone had any memories of that first game. Happy, sad, whatever.

Probably the longest of long shots but is there anywhere vaguely decent close to the station or heading towards the ground? Preferably with the early kick-off on.
On a bit of a health kick and avoiding alcohol (help) so thought maybe one of the casinos but they appear to be two miles in the opposite direction. |

Watching Reading v PNE and it is possibly the worst 20 minutes of football I’ve ever seen at any level. Got me thinking what our worst ever games were. Some real dross under Hart and further back Houston but can’t remember anything so devoid of anything as this game. |
