First Signing Completed

On the day that Manchester United complete their first deal of the summer spending £25-30 Million on Depay, it seems strange that we were once in the same league. Blackpool have announced their first deal and we've plunged in to the Evo Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division for our first deal. The price tag not quite in the millions - a pre-season game against his former club Blyth Spartans!

It would be glib and remiss to diss any new player coming in to Bloomfield Road after the dross that we've had in the last couple of years and so let's see what Jarrett Rivers can do in a Blackpool shirt. He is only 21 years old and was the Northern Premier League Young Player of the Year. He's scored 12 goals in 51 appearances and scored the stunner below against Hartlepool in the FA Cup.

The winger will join Blackpool on July 1st with Lee Clark quoted on the official site as saying ""I've had personal success in the past taking players from non league, having signed Lee Novak while at Huddersfield and Matt Green at Birmingham City. Jarrett's got a good football upbringing from his days as a youngster at Middlesbrough and he's an exciting player who makes and scores goals. He's been one of the outstanding players in a successful season for Blyth Spartans, starring in their FA Cup run and play-off push. His efforts this season have seen him rewarded with a Young Player of the Year award and a call-up to the England C team."
