mattthelegend added 16:30 - Dec 10 Would have taken a draw at the start, but left a bit gutted with the result. Loads of plus points though notably Forster, Stephens, Hojbjerg and Austin. Great attitude from the team, work rate was immense seriously lacking up to the last 4 games, attacking football with intent on the break.Have we turned the corner??? WTF does Redmond not take his man on, he had plenty of opportunity to do this but didn’t as soon as Boufal comes on straight away he goes for it and draws a foul from Arsenal. Defence was solid for 15 - 20 minutes in the second half. 3 points on Wednesday please. mattthelegend added 17:12 - Dec 10 Would have taken a draw at the start, but left a bit gutted with the result. We seemed to be happy to sit back and let them come at us and soak it up. We did that vey well but it's always a bit dangerous and finally Ward-Prowse was drawn out of position trying to cover one of the others and the cross for the goal was a good one. To be honest, we got away with one as Austin was a mile offside for the goal. And he carried on being offside which is just a basic lack of common sense. He also looks pretty unfit and should have gone off after the hour. Redmond terrified the Arsenal defence with his running... once. Why won't he do it more often? Hojberg is doing brilliantly and it's great to see Forster growing in confidence - couple of great saves today. Romeu is also getting close to his best. So things looking so much better than the day after Anfield but we've really got to have a good go against Leicester while watching for their pace on the break. And let's hope someone clatters Vardy - it's been a long wait for payback. DPeps added 20:28 - Dec 10 Lots of positives, just a shame we couldn’t build on the start. PEH epitomised the performance: great effort, some skill, and some basic errors. It good to see us playing more expansively too. SaintBrock added 22:11 - Dec 10 sidsaint added 22:29 - Dec 10 We deserved more. Some great performances from the non regulars like Jack and Pierre. Shows we are building a squad in depth. Charlie could have had a hat trick in the first 10 minutes, Oriol was unlucky when he hit the bar and Ryan is not a striker. Overall a good performance which with a bit of luck would have brought us 3 points. Keep it going on Wednesday. larry12 added 09:23 - Dec 14 Les Reed has assembled the worst squad since they came back up. Time to get rid of Reed and all of his useless cronies. And take Davis, Prowse and Romeu with him. forallthesaints added 11:21 - Dec 14 Still reeling. After the Anfield debacle, we've had four games of real fight and some pretty football and several players (Forster, Romeu, Hojberg, even Ward-Prowse and, to a lesser extent, Redmond) showing form after either playing badly or not playing at all. And then this. Truly horrible. On paper it wasn't a bad 11 - obviously trying to rest the odd player with all the games coming up and just gone but a good team. But Leicester, for all their niggly fouls and diving about (Okazaki should have been booked) and time wasting, just never let Saints have a second and, after 10 minutes we folded and once they'd scored we collapsed completely. It was a familiar back four but they were run ragged, Lemina, Davis and Romeu were all awful, constantly giving the ball up. Boufal was constantly surrounded by three or four Leicester players but everyone stood and watched him - no one moved to support him so he ended up looking a dick. Tadic offered little and Austin barely touched it and never looked threatening. No one deliberately played badly, of course, but can you blame the manager for such a shocking show? Especially as in the first 10 minutes before the first goal, Saints were alright. And if we do get rid of him, who the hell do we get in his place? Flashberryjack added 11:44 - Dec 14 Brilliant game if you were a neutral or a Man City fan, utterly demoralising for us poor Jack's having to watch our team absolutely outclassed in all departments. Although I'm sure we won't be the only team that will suffer the same fate when they have to face this team, I'm absolutely dreading the away game. SaintBrock added 18:17 - Dec 15
