David Seaman 16:44 - Oct 24 with 4753 views | Northernr | Memories? Thoughts? Opinions? Doing him as the 'played for both clubs' guy this week but he was at QPR just slightly before my time so it would be good to get some colour from others.

David Seaman on 17:55 - Oct 24 by SonofNorfolt | Good keeper, but he never even got close to saving a penalty for us. |
plough lane about 87 or 88, we beat wimbledon 2-1. im sure he saved one in the last minute. i remember the ground was so small i could make out my wimbledon mates in the crowd at the other end of the pitch. also remember martin allen getting a nasty injury in that game.

David Seaman on 00:38 - Oct 25 by hamptonhillhoop | Don't get me started on Terry Fenwick. One of the forgotten Rangers. Played 400 games for us. In defence and midfield, took penalties and never missed. Only Rangers player to ever score in a cup final. Never gets a mention. I loved him. I know he left on bad terms but one of the best Rangers players of the last 30 years |
Fenwick was a proper captain and leader on the field too. Something we could very much do with right now. He should have tripped Maradona in 86 though.

David Seaman on 07:54 - Oct 25 with 724 views | CHUBBS | Easily the best goalkeeper in open play we've had in my time supporting Rangers. Absolutely useless on penalties and free kicks though.
David Seaman on 08:45 - Oct 25 with 716 views | BillionR | Probably the best keeper we've ever had. As a budding keeper I used to watch him from behind the goal in the loft..... He was complete bar one thing - he couldn't kick for toffee! It was only when he got to Arsenal that Bob Wilson ironed him out and the people in Ellerslie Road could relax without fear of the Seaman shank. I subsequently learned that he was left handed but threw and kicked with his right.

David Seaman on 22:32 - Oct 24 by hamptonhillhoop | Away at the baseball ground, 87-88 season when we came fifth. During the warm up he deflected a shot into the crowd which knocked my burger out of my hand. He turned round and laughed at me. I was 17 and that was my tea. We won 2 - 0 though so I'll forgive him |
I think that was the game when he had to play the last 20 minutes with a rib injury. He got done by Frank Stapleton when collecting a through ball on the edge of the area and as Stapleton went past him he jabbed him with his fist. The referee didn't even talk to FS. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
David Seaman on 10:30 - Oct 25 with 697 views | daveB | Seaman may have been a prat but he was a great keeper, how anyone can say he wasn't good at penalties is laughable considering how many he saved in his career. One save stands out against Liverpool at home, the 3-2 when Trevor Rrancis was raped by his wife. They hit a shot which was going to the top corner, Rush jumped and flicked a header to the other side of the goal, Seaman adjusted his body and made a sensational save to tip it over the bar.
David Seaman on 11:37 - Oct 25 with 677 views | W7Ranger | Why did Sinton get a lot of grief when he returned (with Sheff Weds?)? I know why Seaman did, but I don't when it comes to Sinton? Did he publicly say he wanted to leave QPR?? I dont recall. I imagine he would've got some stick whilst still with us then? Again, I don't remember this at all. I just remember Sinton giving QPR about 4-5 years of brilliant wing play who also contributed with his fair share of (often superb) goals!! Every time he got the ball - even in our half - the crowd noise lifted more than for any other player at that time, simply because you always felt confident he would create something.....and more often than not, he did! One of the best wingers we've had I would say. I would imagine the older generation would say that Dave Thomas was better - I never saw Thomas in the flash so I can't compare. But have seen many clips of him and he looked absolute quality! Pin point crosses whilst sprinting full pelt to the touchline!!! Brilliant! I wouldn't like to say who was better out of Sinton and Sinclair tho'!! Close one that! Both excellent for us. On the subject of booing players whilst still at the Club. Dichio got a fair bit when it came out he was leaving QPR for.......Sampdoria! (Fnaaar...what were they thinking???) Think his first game for us after it came out was away at Southend.....he got plenty of stick that day!!!

First full-back (Hazell and Roeder were the centre backs that day) to score an FA Cup Final goal from open play too.
David Seaman on 11:42 - Oct 25 with 677 views | daveB | the club said that Sinton handed in a transfer request the day before the start of the season which is why they sold him, stupidly we believed that nonsence and booed him. I still regret that now, I loved Sinton and he deserved better

David Seaman on 10:43 - Oct 26 with 627 views | Monkey_Roots | When I was a little boy living in Uxbridge he actually move down my street (nothing fancy). I once knocked on his door and asked if he would help me with a spot-the-ball competition I was doing at my school fete. He gave me signed pictures, signed squad photos and other QPR bits to give out as prizes - and he gave me a signed photo of himself as a gift. He was a really nice fella, and a few years later when he left us and went on to Arsenal, my mum and dad saw him in the Kohinoor restaurant in Uxbridge and he asked about me, which obviously I kept telling all and sundry about when he was England's goalie. In between the sticks, objectively, he was a great. You don't get a nickname like safehands and keep it throughout a long career, like he did.
