Doing him as the 'played for both clubs' guy this week but he was at QPR just slightly before my time so it would be good to get some colour from others.
I remember a cup game not so long ago when Spunky returned with....man city would have been. He copped abuse all game, particularly second half when he was in front of the loft. I thought it was a bit harsh. But credit to him, at the final whistle he turned around and gave a big smile and waves, to a round of applause. We might even have sung his name.
We lost 0-3 or 1-3 that night (midweek game). And who scored two of their goals (absolute humdingers as well)? SWP

Was that the season after the Ronaldinho free-kick in the 2002 WC? Seem to remember chants of "let's all do the Seaman" whilst staggering backwards and flapping hands in the air. He took it well
No I'm not four foot tall due to a nasty cycling accident a while back lost both legs
Seaman wasn't fit to lick Phil Parkes boots
Great keeper for us but there was no warmth at all towards him whenever we played at Highbury and at Rangers against Arsenal after he left. He used to take the abuse pretty well I thought with a smile.
THAT New Years Eve win at Arsenal was without him in goal which possibly helped as Vince can't remember the surname was quite poor but it didn't take any gloss off the win.
In those days Dixon, Adams and Wright came in for plenty of stick but there was no way Sinton got as much abuse as Seaman when he returned for me.

I remember vividly the "Let's all do the Seaman" chants with wild arm waving by the Loft when he returned and at Highbury by pretty much all the away end.
"We all agree, Bardsley is better than Dixon” and if ”Dixon plays for England so do I" were favourites at the time. "Morrow morrow fell off, Morrow fell off the donkey and "Ian W@nk w@nk w@nk" meant we had plenty of arsenal targets at the time to sing about when every away match seemed to finish 0 - 0 for a good few years before we beat them in style.
Sitting in the North Bank that day as the goals flew in will always stay with me with quite a few Rangers celebrating or keeping quiet to stay in for the whole match depending on if you were rumbled or not
Let in 5 on his debut, couldn't save anything hit from 20 yards or further, got a whiskey bottle chucked at him on his return, should of been dropped when he appeared in the papers in an arsenal top before his original transfer collapsed due to lukij, not coming the other way.
favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL
I made it a draw in the Seaman vs Sinton "who got most abuse" game
However, "We all agree Sinclair is better than Sinton" was more convincing than "Roberts is better than Seaman", though each was sung with equal gusto
Sinton got abuse all game and eventually got taken off to save him any more about 20 mins from the end. I have never seen ANY player get so much abuse at our ground in 40 years.
A super keeper, we struggled to replace him. Would have been held in far higher esteem had he left the club in a more dignified manner.
The team that regularly finished in the upper echelons of the Premier League in the early to mid nineties would have achieved so much more with a keeper of Seaman's quality between the sticks.
I remember an article in the paper when he was pushing for a move -- it was a two page spread with direct quoted under the headline "Get Me Out Of This Nightmare" Lost respect for him then seeing that when I opened the paper up at college.
Then, some years later, after he'd dropped his wife and kids and set up home with Arsenals PR girl, I heard this mega-money England star had deigned it acceptable to send his 3 sons a Chrsitmas Card. Whats wrong with that? Well it was the one card between all 3 and no sign of a present, no phone call, no wish to see them over th festive period. Nish. Thats not the sign of a decent person.
I do recall on one of his returns we sang "You should've stayed at the Rangers" and he mimicked picking up trophies -- all in good natured banter.
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
If memory serves, Seaman was highly rated when we signed him for £225k or something. But what stuck in my mind was I think the deal was done at a service station on the M1 (Watford gap possibly). Whenever I drive past it I think how bizarre that the QPR manager and Seaman would have been sitting in some dive discussing terms and signing papers. Can't imagine that happening nowadays can you with all these overpaid primadonnas. Great keeper by the way and we got a measly £1.3 m when Arse stole him.
OK the way he left was undignified, he was a t--t to his family, but to me he was still the best keeper we've had my lifetime (too young for Parkes). And at least he saved the ponytail / tache combo until he'd f--ked off.
I think having a world-class keeper in those days made a huge difference, as there were fewer playing in the top division - you'd still get the pleasure of watching the likes of Bobby Mimms turning out for Spurs, for example.
I'm sure that when he played for us he could barely kick the ball out of our half, when he came back with Arsenal he could land it in our penalty area.
I have to say he had his best years as a goalkeeper and was in his prime when he played for us but wasn't a England regular . When he played for arsenal in the early years he didn't have a lot to do due to the most organised and drilled defence I have seen. Can anyone remember the 1 nil to the arsenal chants cos that was the usual score line in them days boring but effective. This enhanced his reputation and know doubt that's what made him England's no1 . However for me he was a far better keeper at rangers ,he was a hero untill the sulky sit down protest.
Away at the baseball ground, 87-88 season when we came fifth. During the warm up he deflected a shot into the crowd which knocked my burger out of my hand. He turned round and laughed at me. I was 17 and that was my tea. We won 2 - 0 though so I'll forgive him
Very good keeper for us. Always felt confident when he came out for crosses. As has been mentioned though tended to save his errors for the bigger games. Could not kick straight to save his life.
Had great banter with the Loft during his time with us and was known as "Harry" by many. Of course it all turned sour with the Arsenal thing and the "lets all do the Seaman" chants while arm waving were highly amusing. "Where were you when Koeman scored" was another one he got.
While Stejskal was a decent keeper in my opinion he was not as good as Seaman. It also stood out how little he reacted to the crowd, applause from the Loft etc after Seaman had always acknowledged it. Eventually someone must have had a word and he at least managed to briefly applaud back. Always looked like it was hard for him to do though.
As for who got the most abuse, Terry Fenwick has to be up there after (and even before) his move to Spurs.

Don't get me started on Terry Fenwick. One of the forgotten Rangers. Played 400 games for us. In defence and midfield, took penalties and never missed. Only Rangers player to ever score in a cup final. Never gets a mention. I loved him. I know he left on bad terms but one of the best Rangers players of the last 30 years

I always thought of him as Venables' representative on earth, as he seemed to follow him everywhere.
