Rest of the Championship thread 11:07 - Aug 10 with 109216 views | Hunterhoop | Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc? For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te? Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull. Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

I was talking to a few Plymouth fans in the pub after the game on Saturday, and I mentioned about him normally scoring against us,but they said that he’d been rubbish most of the season.

Watched the 2nd half of Sheff Weds v Bristol City: bizarre tactics from Wednesday. W’re bossing the game against a poor City and one up then Nakhi scored against the run of play. Wednesday immediately go up the other end and score to deservedly take the lead again. However they then all drop back and invite City to have waves of attacks against them with loads of chances before the inevitable equaliser. Absolutely no need to do that as Bristol City had done very little all game: Wednesday were loudly booed off at the end. Bodes well for Saturday.

Whits could not be arsed against us; only in the last 10 mins did he have a go to try to be a hero and get a goal back. It didn't work, so now I suspect he wants out while there is a window. He is a very skilful player, more RW than CF despite his height. Its a shame when players phone it in, at least always angry Bannon has never done that.

Either last season was his 'Mike Sheron at Stoke' season or it's second season syndrome. A bit of an unknown quantity last season but not now.

Don't underestimate the Wayne Rooney effect... He had Schumacher for most of his time there, then Wayne came through the door - probably side on to get through - and killed the momentum. I don't think this latest move is too smart though, I doubt the players will trust a new manager so quick to hang a team mate out to dry...
