Avanti being Avanti aren't selling train tickets yet but for £27 you can get the super off peak West Midlands Train from Euston. Looks like there's then one local train an hour up to the ground so time for a few beers in town.

Realise it was my choice to move north and majority won't have issues like I do for home games but even after relocating pre pandemic I hardly missed a match. Virgin ran reliable trains and you could at times get decent deals on them, now I've pretty much given up.
The issue around Wembley Saturday, knowing there were no trains from Euston completely spoiled my enjoyment of the match, wondering if I would even get home. I did took around 6 hours.
London Northwestern/West Midlands (same company) you can get cheap tickets but getting anywhere takes hours and they nearly left me stranded in Birmingham after one match.
Avanti, well for weekend travel when there is no strike, forget planning lucky if tickets on sale 5 days before travelling then it cost over £90. Total disgrace.
Throw in train strikes, option for WBA is now £70 return on National Express. Then of course Sky make getting home from Birmingham impossible and coming down for Burnley a mare, will probably come down Saturday.
Forgive me but I cannot wait for Preston, if I have to I can catch a bus!

Yeh mate massive sympathies. I obviously did a lot of following QPR from north east, and then Sheffield, when I was younger and if LNER or EMR had been playing up like this while I was doing that I'd have been distraught.

Is that from stowmarket or London ? Either way can you put up some brief details of that journey / train times & where booked thanks in advance .
I booked on trainsplit, and it’s from stowmarket.Train out at 06.09 and change at Peterborough and Leeds.9.57 from Leeds gets into Preston at 11.38,just in case sky decide to move it to 12.30. Return is 17.44 and gets to Leeds at 19.27,and the train back to Peterborough is 19.45,which doesn’t leave much time if there’s a delay on the first train. But there are later trains back to London. Returns from Leeds to Preston are £10.50,so if you can find a cheaper ticket to Leeds from London it will save money on going straight to Preston from Euston. I looked at a direct ticket from stow to Preston and it was £94.50,so I saved £63 by splitting the journey up. Good luck.
Sorry I forgot to say that I used my over 60’s railcard so that is 1/3 less that the youngsters prices.
I just looked at trainsplit and returns to Leeds from kings cross for 17/12 are £38 for you youngsters, plus £13 for the Leeds to Preston bit is around £50.

I moved to near Peterborough from Uxbridge, about 6 years ago through work, and have to say the LNER routes are a god send for getting up and down. Changing at Leeds is perfect for those north west matches. We also have the cheap Thameslink service option for home games.
Midlands games are a ball ache as there's nothing major running cross-country. Birmingham will require the car.

The ticket I bought yesterday morning (super off peak return) cost £26.50 from a company called London Northwestem Railway. Seemed pretty straightforward. They are a real train company aren’t they?
I use London Northwestern trains from Northampton all the time, pretty good service and only 55 mins from Northampton to Euston and regular trains. Also late night service good last train out of Euston 12.35am. Northampton to Coventry takes about 30 mins. Midlands games are quite easy from Northampton as regular service to Birmingham via West Midlands trains which is same company as London Northwestern. The trains are called London Northwestern from Northampton to Euston and West Midlands Trains from Northampton to Birningham. Avanti is a mess of an operator on notice to lose their franchise.

I used to drive to Northampton and use their trains for trips to the games in the north west.Slightly longer, but much cheaper.Shame it’s a 2 hour drive to Northampton for me though.

Get quite a mix of supporters using Northampton station, obviously lot of ex Londoners here, so follow range of London clubs. You get some Birmingham and Villa, but mainly London teams.

Might be worth a heads up that even once you've got to Coventry, they're only currently confirming their home games are taking place game by game and two days prior to kick off...
NEWS: We can confirm that Saturday's game against Blackpool will be played as scheduled at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Multiple sources saying staff based at companies within CBS Arena have been told to clear their desks over fears they might not be able to gain access on Monday as administration seemingly beckons. Seems like situation could get worse next week… all will be working to avoid.

Says on Soccer Saturday they’re potentially going to be ground sharing elsewhere again. Everything crossed for an unscheduled Burton trip.
Everything crossed for Coventry fans. Club felt like it was getting back on its feet after heading home with a relatively decent team, now potentially homeless again.

Surely this is the perfect opportunity for Coventry to try and buy the ground?
