Fansnetwork 19:09 - Mar 3 with 2332 views | jonestones | Are we the only regularly posters on the Fansnetwork? I can't claim to have looked at all of the forums, but I have looked a few and there's no one on them!

Rochdale and Swansea too, but I think that's about it. Remarkable really when you consider back in the day almost every club was on Rivals, with one login providing access to all.

Fansnetwork on 14:51 - Mar 7 with 2227 views | Barsidepete | TWTD -- Independent Ipswich Town -- has effectively the identical look as The U'sual, right down to the "interactive," but is seemingly not on Fansnetwork. Their interactive has a few extras such as a grounds guide. Their site prediction league is quite busy with participants. The forum has the same template like ours. Apparently TWTD stands for Those Were the Days. http://www.twtd.co.uk/ http://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/ [Post edited 7 Mar 2016 14:56]

I had to research this. The site itself on TWTD's home page doesn't mention the acronym. So did some cross-refencing. Not clear why they have an identical template as The U'sual.

There was, I recall from the 70s, a terrace chant to the tune of Mary Hopkins' classic that went along the lines of "Those were the days my friend, we took the Stretford End, we took the Shed, the North Bank Highbury...". The rest of my recollection is lost to the passage of time, but I do recall it being sung on the Layer Rd bleachers. If Ipshit are trying to make reference to having a bit of a 'firm', that's even funnier! Btw Whales, you probably need to change your poll to something more topical and up-to-date - I'd imagine "Tony Humes - did he deserve to get his job" would cover it :-)

Great post, Wessex. I wanted to post on their site a few weeks ago but it is under lockdown and you have to be approved. Turns out I'm approved now. Not via Fansnetwork, but I think via a second email address, got in. I have no username yet, just the fact ITFC/TWDT approved me via email conformation. To post. Whatever. They take a lot of hits from us but there was a lament that Colchester United wasn't doing that well on one thread. Yes, really. The fear was that if The U's don't perform well then the Youth Squad will move up -- they assume relegation is a certainty -- so there may be an eye on Moncur, for instance. Problem is, I believe the Tractors will try to pry away 2 players from us, although still hope that Hammers like sending us 2 loanees for 2016/17 and that will even it out. I'm ok with us deciding on a username. But not to take the piss. I'll use the username we decide on. The password I will inbox to anyone who wants to post there. Their message board is fascinating. You could go there. Suggest a good username. Then I'll inbox you the password. That simple. It would be amusing if they go up via the playoffs. I mean,.. I pretty much have no reason reason to watch the Prem. If Nodge or Bournemouth is on tv, I'll watch that. Spurs too. Been with Happy to catch Canaries at Ippy. Nodge kicked arse. Nodge fans were escorted out with along line of coppers EDIT: yup, I have priority rights to purchase duckets at Portman Rd. That's because of three games -- although did attend IPFC v M'Boro -- Haps and I were going to attend Tractor Boys v Ipswich but i wasn't feeling well. Every week I get Ippy updates and have a password. God help us if Ips make it to Wembley. I can can get two tickets .. kill me now. [Post edited 7 Mar 2016 21:11]

I loathe the poorman road outfit. Perhaps we could refrain from wasting time considering them. Up the U's

Up The U's! This started as what teams were on Fansnetwork. It seems ITFC is but a closed site. They have to approve you. That's more about me and Haps, Ipswich v Norwich and Ipswich v Derby. I have some long "code" to buy any Tractor Boys tickets -- that's via itfc.co.uk/ Look, just being 100%. We decide on a username. But the password I will only send --inbox-- to those who assure me my email/username will NOT be blocked. Thank you. .... Know what? I have a username in mind ... will post that here if ITFC-independent approves me.

I think a lot of clubs had, possibly still have, a version of that song. On a non football forum i frequent reference was made just last week to the Leicester version. As for updating the poll...if I can think of an option beyond "yes" and "no" then I will.

Fansnetwork on 12:32 - Mar 8 with 2091 views | Daniel | The network is a bit of a phoenix Rivals.net. In the latter years of Rivals, Sky purchased it and screwed it up to the point that it shut down. A few of us set up and moved to our own network called Club Fanzine, which later evolved into the Fans Network. It looks similar to TWTD because the same guys built both sites. In addition to the other clubs already mentioned, there's a Leeds site, Derby site, and a Pompey site.
