They better not even think of turning up in the stripes, at least plain black creates less of an overall clash and mish-mash of colours. Anyway, if we can sort a third kit to good effect, so can they. It'll be annoying if we're in yellow.

As in made public they have one to wear, not that it's on sale.
When clubs have third kits, they usually release info on it. To be fair, Wednesday may well be doing this much in the same way we did ahead of Hartlepool.
Edit: or they may well be doing what TVOS says. FINE THEM. For a start, that's a socks clash. Let's hope the FA get onto them about it and insist they find a change kit. It's the entertainment industry, people are paying good money to watch the game and don't want to mixing up what's happening. [Post edited 15 Jan 2014 19:08]

Yeah. We turned up with our own third shirt which was white, their home shirt at the time was red & white halves. Why we thought with our blue home or green away would clash is difficult to establish.
We wore their yellow shirt with our blue shorts & white socks. Like Brazil, but with Steve Doyle instead of Pele. | |

Why should we have been bothering about it when we realised in advance that Bristol Rovers would arrive with kits that clashed and we ended up wearing our away kit?
It's Sheffield Wednesday's problem, but we could be the ones affected by it. And as supporters, if the ref lets them wear stripes, it won't be much fun to watch. A bit like when Superman fought himself in that scrapyard and Evil Superman just had a muddier outfit. Try watching that from the back of the Pearl St. [Post edited 15 Jan 2014 22:27]

They wore all grey on their last visit, which ironically was their third kit last season when they got a new yellow away kit. The issue with sponsors is probably not as simple as the current ones, which are different, would expect coverage on tv/press pictures.
It's up to clubs to work towards benefitting those viewing on tv and, more importantly, in the grounds. It's ridiculous that the ref's opinion is considered most important as he'll be watching everything at close quarters. The City-West Ham clash illustrates this best - viewing the entire pitch it looked one big sky blue and white mess.
This wouldn't happen if the FA/FL had someone to point out to clubs that they're making a mess of something very easy to sort out. | |

Wednesday's kit is predominantly blue, especially with that blue panel Puma have on a lot of their kits this season. Also the shorts & socks are blue. Wearing all-white against teams with stripes can often be ok as there is little overall clash - Leeds used to do it a lot v Newcastle and at Sheff Wed on occasion (not last week!). However it can't be done when the team in stripes has shorts or socks that are white - eg. Hartlepool or Exeter in our division.Â
Added to that, Macc's white kit is very plain, whereas if we wore all white, should there be a replay, the blue panel on our shirt would create more of a clash. Luckily we have a yellow kit now... | |
