The Olympics on 19:02 - Aug 10 by exiledclaseboy | We've got more medals at this stage of Rio than we did at this stage of London. Probably fewer golds though. Medal target is between 49-72. Should make the lower end of that easily enough. |
The voice of reason when everyone else was bleating about how crap we'd been this year.

The Olympics on 19:06 - Aug 10 by exiledclaseboy | Also worth noting that there are more than 100 fewer athletes in the UK team in Rio than there were in London. A lower medal count than the high watermark 65 from a home games four years ago is a given. The 47 from Beijing in 2008 is a more realistic aim. |
And again look. Who is this poster? He's a sage.

Be great if Becky won the sprint. Nice girl, according to friends in Abergavenny, or at least she was.

GB have been quite open about the fact that they prepare in four year cycles. They plan to peak for the Olympics and don't really care about anything else.

Aye, GB did nothing in the last world championships. Nothing but finish top of the medal table with two more golds than any other country. Nothing at all. Also finished top of the medal table in 2013. So that's top of the medal table in two of the world championships between Olympic games. Big rumblings in Trampie's head. Some say there aren't any rumblings anywhere else.

The Olympics on 10:53 - Aug 16 by ymaohyd | Looking at the medal table , staggering how Islamic countries don't seem to engage particularly well in sport. Countries like Indonesia with a population around 255 mill only have a few medals. I'm probably displaying my ignorance of the religion which may or may not forbid participation in certain sports, possibly by women. Many Islamic countries are poverty stricken I know, however with all the negative publicity that goes hand in hand with the religion, it's a shame they couldn't channel some of their energies into sport rather than bombing the crap out of one another and at times the west. |
The biggest country in the world by population is now India with about 1.2bn people and they haven't won a single medal (nor are they Islamic). Over the years Morocco have done very well, as have other North African nations with middle distance and distance running (there was a good Moroccan woman hurdler a while back as I recall). Iran are quite good at stuff like weightlifting and wrestling. It's all partly a function of the sports that are 'Olympic' and not - it's probably very European centric without us really realising it, which would make sense given the history.

They're representing the Union Jack.. Therefore they're traitors of Cymru.. considering trampie is an ardent Welsh Nationalist.. I'm wondering why he even communicates in saxon words.. and not jumbled Latin.
