Is anyone now thinking more about their travel plans .... 22:00 - Jun 28 with 21813 viewsScoobyWho

After the recent terrorist activity ?

For the first time ever I am now giving it some thought, especially now as we are travelling more for work etc. My other thoughts, which a quite scary are that these fcktards will target anyone anywhere. I mean, shooting people on sunbeds on their holidays is a new low.

Would they target sporting events in the UK as an example ?

Fcking frightening world we live in these days. At least 30 UK nationals killed on their holidays. I'm finding this hard to get in to perspective.

Excuse my cracked ipad screen but why the fck did you go to Sharm in the first place if you hated it...absolutely ridiculous.

The place is beautiful and popular amongst the brits,I also met my mrs there eight years ago.

Apart from the shopkeepers there who are a pain, compared to some UK resorts its a paradise.

Snorkeling there is great as well, the colors on the fish are amazing ......I'd love to go proper scuba diving but I'm sh*t at it. I will agree that outside the hotels is pretty sh*tty.

Don't be daft now. People enjoy going. To those places, you have asmuch chance of being hit by a meteorite as being lie by a terrorist while on holidays. Eats not blow it out of proportion here. I'd certainly go there routinisation given half a chance!

Friends been to Tunisia. HATED IT

Common theme is way (Britiish) women are perceived (in their skimpy bikinins ,dresses and tops)

Daft, is someone prepared to tolerate this just for some sun.

Daft is risking your security in countries like Egypt.

I don't argue with the point about not visiting countries if they are (or you deem them to be and everyone will have different views on that) unsafe - that's sensible.

But the Moslem bit is ridiculous.

I have travelled pretty extensively in India and can tell you that the safest areas of India by far for women (outside the biggest cities where they are more advanced) are the Moslem areas. The predominantly Hindu areas are far more dangerous and women are much more likely to be attacked.

Your living in one.

You're right - Moslems account for 1.5% of the total population of Wales (with the UK Moslem population being 4.5% of the total).

We're positively overrun with them.

You could go to Spain. They have entire areas catered to those Brits who want to brave going overseas to visit somewhere that is exactly like home. But with less rain.

They say travel broadens the mind. Reading this thread shows quite how many narrow minds there are.

I agree that Sharm is likely to be a bit of a sh*thole. It's a tourist area with identikit hotels intended to be entirely unrepresentative of the culture of the country it's located in. Sounds awful to me but is what some "tourists" are looking for.

You reckon that Moslem couples have on average over 8 children each??

lol

The actual number is about 4 by the way - just over double the indigenous population which is about 1.6 (and the 'replacement level' is about 2.1). And that mirrors the history of almost all immigrant groups - immigrants tend to have higher birth rates, but after a period they 'settle' to the about the same average as the rest of the population.

It is ridiculous to suggest that men in Muslim countries have any respect for women (LikeBritish) whatsoever . They see the likes of you lisa as virtual prostitues and only on this earth for sex and domestic duties.
Witness the lifestyle of the Arab man never having his woman have acquaintances without his permission, etc etc.

They are not even allowed to pray together.

THEY take our money but by Christ ,please dont tell me they in any way have anything other than contempt for us.

The friendly ones in resorts are so because they want money OUR money and without it they are fecked.

Its a shame oil was discovered in the middle east as otherwise they would be irrelevant.

I am not talking about resorts.

I'm talking about actually travelling to countries and experiencing the culture, not transplanting British holiday makers from one place to another.

And I spent over two months travelling around India and even within the same towns, the Moslem areas are safer for women than the Hindu areas. Varanasi is a good example, where the Moslem half (Benares) is much safer than the Hindu half.

And while you're slagging off the ones in resorts who are only 'after our money' you may want to reflect on the Tunisian Moslems who put themselves in front of a gunman to save the British tourists you are insisting they are so contemptuous of.

Good job they didn't read this site - they probably wouldn't have bothered.

Are you dismissing the idea that Muslim men treat women as either chattels, breeding machines ,domestic servants?

Tunisians need our money therefore they need tourists and tourists are their lifeblood. Im sure in my own mind altruism wasn't their sole motivation.

We re talking resorts here, LISA but the role of woman is ,as in the Old Testament and the Korah is clearly defined and its not very edifying.

We are now seeing security staff at Sharm playing cards/sleeping and taking a bribe to allow passengers through to avoid queues. UTTER CHAOS and our people are being treated like dogs..

Aye, and all white men respect women too don't they? You only have to read this board for examples of that.

And as for "We are now seeing security staff at Sharm playing cards/sleeping and taking a bribe to allow passengers through to avoid queues. UTTER CHAOS and our people are being treated like dogs"

You could be describing any number of employees based in this country too, including security staff, police, fire officers etc etc.
