Brooklyn,the Doagh chippy would be "The Cornerstone" a feast of fried food for a fiver.
For quality i would find "The Clarence" in Ballyclare hard to beat.A bit more pricey but beautiful.

Don't know about the best in UK, but the Blue Herring in Sunbury village is top quality fish, does skate and rock. Worth a go if your local to it. [Post edited 20 Feb 2015 17:33]

On a trip to the Fife coast in Scotland and today's fish and chips at the Anstruther Fish Bar was just brilliant. Won many awards and did not disappoint. It's haddock and chips full stop as that's what's plentiful in the North Sea and that's what's caught fresh today. They tell you the boat that caught it and we saw it in the next harbour. Watch out if you're ever in Edinburgh then PP, if you don't say otherwise you get 'Salt n Sauce' (Very thin brown sauce) rather than 'salt & vinegar' as standard. Not a thing commonly found in any other Scottish towns that i'm aware of.

And just a bit further up is Arbroath and Arbroath smokies. Not strictly fish and chips but you can eat the most delicious fish in the history of eating fish, wrapped in newspaper, sitting on a bench by the harbour. |  |
