Swansea will always be in a relegation battle quote from "gillette soccer special" lets buy borinin now were friends with brendon, but don't phone him today wait a few days, So as far as the stats compare how has garys run compared with Ml. Defence did well considering it was their first outing , looks like derby for next year,

Match day thread: Sunderland V Swansea City on 18:47 - May 11 with 1746 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | I didn't watch the whole match but it is a promising result. It gives me a bit more confidence going into next season. A big well done to the fringe players today. We all know Neil should have come in for Ben months ago but it was good to see him excel when called upon again.

Match day thread: Sunderland V Swansea City on 14:49 - May 11 by jeza739 | Goalkeeper . Vorm has been poor for yr now so what's the problem? Should have been left out months ago IMO Defence Rangel is injured would you rather Jazz? So Tiendalli has to play. Taylor is our best left back ffs. Armat has proven himself better than Chico and deserves his place. Bartley may just may be the big commanding centre half (ala Caulker) we been crying out for. Only one way to find out Midfield. Fulton? We need to see if he's up to it ala Bartley. Attack. Emnes. Has done well and deserves to start and to stay There are people on here who I feel wouldn't be happy if we were in ManC position today! |
What a great post at 2.50 today. Take a bow, especially when you read others on the thread.

Match day thread: Sunderland V Swansea City on 18:29 - May 11 by Spratty | He probably is - possibly he's losing it Had no message when I was banned (twice as Spratty) just shut out , Set up NikNac it took him 3 goes for him to try and lock that out as I kept going back in then getting thrown out again a few minutes later. The I set up Strider. ECB picked up from my post I was banned as Spratty said I should never be banned and I assume he restored me. Funny how posts disappear if what is in them disputes anything Darran says, it is beyond ridiculous. Just did 2 totally polite replies to people's questions and they have both been deleted. Still check out the other site and saw PlasticMan had also banned him. Presumably for being Danish. All he had to do was take a load of racist crap from Darran. |
Plasticman is not banned and hasn't been since not long after he was banned.

Probably up until it was 2 - 0 I guess and then it got a bit much for you and your pre match predictions. God, you must be hurting right now.

On the contrary I am happy. We performed well and we appeared to know what we were trying to do when attacking (although I am judging that from the opening 15 minutes and listening to the remaining 75 minutes), where as against Southampton we looked lost when going forward. There was an incisiveness today that we haven't seen for a while. It was promising. I stopped watching as I am studying very hard for my remaining exams, two of which occur tomorrow and Tuesday and so I simply left the tab the stream was playing on at the bottom of my screen with the volume up while I continued make notes on ecological succession.

Match day thread: Sunderland V Swansea City on 14:25 - May 11 by DwightYorkeSuperstar | It's win/win. We lose - we were giving players a chance before the end of the season to let them prove they deserve to stay We win - Garry Monk is a football genius The only people who lose are the fans who spent upwards of £60 each to go to the game today expecting to see a strong Swansea team do their all to win the game. |
Think thats a great £60 spent. All you could hear was swans fans singing, brilliant, party atmosphere for us. Sunderland fans very quiet.

Match day thread: Sunderland V Swansea City on 21:17 - May 11 with 1258 views | MattG | I questioned the team selection before kick off - I wasn't happy that it looked quite so experimental. Fair play to Monk and the lads, though - it undoubtedly helped that Sunderland were already safe but to win as comfortably as we did (I think the possession and shots on goal stats are misleading in terms of how the game actually went) was impressive to say the least. Roll on fourth season syndrome.

I'll tell you why, the arrows are so close to the centre icon, you're in the lap of the gods pressing the wrong buttons. Designed by someone with thin fingers obviously. I just give you an accidental mark down too.

Well you lose some and you win some! Today certainly made up for last week when I left the Liberty totally deflated. Pity there is not another home game because the players deserve their lap of honour and the acclaim of the fans which they missed last week due to the appalling ending to that game. Today I thought we were excellent when on the boil and dodgy when off the boil, but to score 3 excellent goals was a tremendous achievement and to get past 40 points after such an erratic season was truly outstanding. Well done boys. Bony added another million to his value and put himself firmly in the spotlight. Look out for the big wallets being opened. Routledge was again excellent as was Shelvey. And Emnes looks like a keeper (no not a goalie silly!). Dyer had a good game with some end-product to go with his trickery - superb goal. I was going to be critical of the defence which was incredibly nervy and shaky at times but then Amat made that outstanding goal-saving tackle on Borini (?) at the end so I forgave him and Bartley all that had gone before. Certainly emphasised Ash Williams' value to the back line though! I think Amat and Bartley just need more practice and game time and they'll be fine. I liked Monk's team selection - good to see Taylor. We should see more of him - he is an excellent player - but I thought he withdrew Emnes a tad early - he was terrorising the Sunderland defence. So all in all, a very satisfactory ending to an iffy season. Let's have the boredom of mid-table mediocrity next year boys! I can't take the excitement. Onward and upward

Agree about the performance - showed good spirit and determination by players and staff. Not sure about Tremmell - thought he made a couple of tidy stops but didn't seem to want to communicate with his defence which could have cost us. For me, if Vorm stays then Tremmell goes but if Vorm goes then I'd keep Tremmell as backup to whoever we get in to replace Vorm.
