Pleased that we didn't end up with 3 losses in a row. Good Cullen goal, and I thought there were several solid performances. I agree though with phrases from the thread such as "made hard work" of the win, and "hanging on" a bit towards the end.

It was a bit of hanging on but we created a few chances towards the end which to me is a massive positive.

Our defence was not poor I can assure you as if it was we would have lost that game.

My point is that they created numerous clear cut opportunities that on another day could have resulted in at least 3 goals. I am not saying at times our defence wasn’t good, we found a way & stopped them scoring at the end of the day. The creation of so many clear chances is a cause for concern and some of that is down to poor defending imo. Some of their misses were more down to their lack of quality or composure not all down to good defending.

Some of our supporters tend to wear blinkers at times.

It was a fantastic three points, a lot was down to our play, a lot was down to Blackburn's poor finishing, reality.

The clear chances were early doors, once we woke up they never had a clear chance.

Btw we also had at least 2 clear chances and 1 goal ruled out which was clearly onside.

Swings and roundabouts eh 🤷

Yep. For all that people can point out the Blackburn openings, we had several goals ruled out, at least one of which probably shouldn't have been.

We were well worth the win today.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Definitely but some on this forum will always look on the negative side, which tbh isn't a bad trait really.

I got no beef with people who legitimately question things that go on. As a club we need that.

There are however people who revel in misery, either for trolling purposes or because they're sad little losers with no other reason for existing. It's important that they get called out on it.

Thats the problem with forums, there are people who just don't fit in with normal society, I'm not saying that the naysayers on this forum are like this, I've met perch and he definitely isn't a shrinking violet, it's just some people as you say revel in negativity, I don't think its trolling, its they are just natural negative people, which is sad, they come on and post like mad when we lose but are scarcely seen when we win, when they do post, they nitpick, which is truly sad.

I can’t imagine travelling through life with a negative head on. I’m certain more is achieved, and much more gained from being positive and generally supportive of yourself and others.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Exactly Keith, I'm not saying i am cockahoop all the time but I am happy most of the time.

We all know and have worked with people with negative attitudes, they can drag people down.

Nail. On. Head.

Excellent 3 points & we are getting more difficult to beat - that said like a few of our games recently it felt to me like a match between two mid-table sides where the one who takes their chance(s) when on top collects the 3 points.

We had the better of the middle 50/60 mins with Blackburn on top early & late - we probably deserved the win but not by much & sit about right in the table for me.

If we can find a 12/15 goal scorer for the second half of the season in Jan we might give the play-offs a run otherwise top 10 is about the best I can see right now.

Is this 12/15 a season in addition to the two we already have, Lowe and Yates?
Lowe has been that for us in his first season with us but struggled in the second either not selected in the team or did the partnership with Ayew break down, seemed they wouldn't pass to each other or were they just too far apart?
Yates would thrive on the early cross think both Cullen and I think Key or was it Ashby have provide early crosses for him to score this season which we haven't done enough given the players out wide tend to cut back inside.

Jamal was only with us for one season 2020/21 before he left for Bournemouth.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

It’s a wonderful concept to be happy or positive all the time
The reality is different however and many not blessed with this mindset are ritually stigmatised as somehow being problematic or difficult, worthy of contempt .
Those of a positive half glass full mindset should be of a mentality not to treat such folk with such obvious distance
I read much about mental health support but little in practice on here.

If somebody is happy all the time ,then great but never should one assume that life is easy for all.

As regards football and sport in general ,using mental health as a pejorative still goes on .

We could really start a thread on this subject and have it out .

When you say "naysayers" does that mean posters that have a different opinion ?

Allow me to interlope …
Yes,but it could be doom and gloom ,half glass empty or simply “ negative” .
People have to truly grasp as to what negativity means l
It is not a hook to hang a forum poster upon .

I read much positive posts and believe not a word of them .

It looks good though and people love a happy post or person. It’s often a facade ,a patina underneath which there lies the rust of truth

Positivity on life in general doesn’t really correlate with positivity when it comes to other things like sport, which is out of your control.

No I mean people who are always negative no matter how well or bad we do, it's in their dna just like some people are naturally positive.
