After reading about how badgers are bred and killed in China for such brushes I did the decent thing and bought a German "fake" badger hair brush made by Muhle.
Muhle make good razors too, though I use the splendidly-named Edwin Jagger, made in Sheffield.
As for working up a lather, I'd recommend soaps from Taylor's of Old Bond Street.
An Alum Block is the other essential.
Initial outlay for all this is a bit eye-watering, but in the long run it's very cost-effective compared to shelling out the absurd prices charged for your everyday safety razors. |  | | |
