Kryptonic wheels? How I used to gaze mesmerised at those in total awe, the Rolls Royce of skateboard wheels they were especially when compared to my solid rock hard clear plastic ones..... Totally out of my pocket money range Kryptonics, very expensive things forty years ago.

Then there was ACS trucks and Benjy boards that just like Kryptonics were many a kids wildest dream and only for the spoilt kid with a parent or parents with more disposable income.

Crazy price differentials, then and now....Were you of type tempted to have used four wheels of different colour some had blue on the front and red at the back or vice versa? I always found that intriguing cos the guys who used to do that said it was for 'performance'.

I can't be 100% certain the reason for that but I'm sure I was told for that but one colour was better for speed and normal urban conditions (pavements, roads and curbs) and the other better for tricks, turns, acrobatics and skateboard parks.

Blue a Firm wheel

Red a soft wheel

So you would select the colour depending on what you wanted speed,grip etc

Softer the wheel the more grip the harder the wheel the more speed.

You can indeed buy double edge blades, I use nothing else. I was given a steel Wilkinson Sword razor by my Gran for my fifteenth birthday, I think it was, and have used it every day since.

I use them myself, Loh.

I should have been more specific and said that they're not so easily available these days.

Certainly not in my local Boots or Superdrug, although, somewhat surprisingly, Wilkos do stock them.

I generally avoid Wilkos (sheer snobbery, I'm afraid ðŸ˜³), but will sneak in occasionally to top up with Wilkinsons blades, although they have been out of stock for weeks, meaning I have a choice of taking a 10 mile trip to a neighbouring town or resorting to Amazon.

Wonder how many posters on this forum actually use this old style way of shaving?
