An Australian professor of Data Analytics from Griffith University who predicted Trump’s first win, the Australian Federal Election(when all the polls said the opposite) and Brexit has called it - Trump will be re-elected for another 4 years. You heard it here first.

Poll: Where will we finish up next season?

If the Dem were to run the country in a very positive way, there would be no fear of Trump or similar getting in next time.

But that's unlikely to happen so you have to try and get rid of him now before all your (Dem's) failing that will happen with little excuses holding all the power.

Biden will be gone long before the next election, shit will continue to hit the fan on so many fronts and they will replace Biden with Harris.

Poison chalice anyone?

On your first sentence, for once I agree sort of.

The Trump phenomenon like many of the political disasters that have hit the western word comes from fear and desperation because of inequality. If the Dems start to seriously increase the HDI of the worst off in society then they may start to move that huge anti progressive monolith in American society, although I think it’s too late for this current generation to be honest for the saem reason 40% of this country still want to vote Tory.

Bearing in mind the main banking, weapons, pharmaceutical, and fracking donors to the Biden campaign, and the Dems paralysing fear of being called socialist, I can’t see it happening.

His recent video and press statement are laughable. There may have been an argument for not impeaching had he shown contrition, admitted Biden legitimately won the election and resigned but he is far too cowardly for that.
Let's not forget his tweet after the coup attempt:
“These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously and viciously stripped away.”

To borrow his phrase: Lock him up!

Mitch McConnell is believed to have said he thinks Trump has committed impeachable acts and is currently hedging his bets which way he'll vote. If he votes guilty the two thirds Senate majority will appear in short order.

And it's very much in McConnell's interest to see Trump completely sidelined.

McConnell is a fcking snake. Openly hated Trump before 2016 election then kissed his arse and spewed lies for 4 years and only turned against when Republicans lost Georgia.
Plus he has the most annoying voice in the world.

Trump on 10:13 - Jan 14 by stevec

Konk, the thing is I agree with all that.

The problem is you’re looking at it from the last year only, where Trump has concocted this idea that the vote was a fraud.

But for the last four years the Democrats have gone for him personally, using very similar tactics, I’ve got to say this I’m afraid, as the Remain camp did in refusing to accept the democratic vote here.

Play the ball not the man. Biden will do himself and the Democrats a huge favour if he shows Trump some contrition. You’re a reasonable bloke so why the vindictiveness?

I really cannot understand the argument that yes, he attempted to overturn the results of a free and fair democratic election, yes, he has sought for months (years, actually) to undermine the integrity of US democracy, and yeah, he's responsible for the insurrectionary mob that stormed the Capitol, seeking to block the process of counting the EC votes, and beating a police officer to death as they went about it, but can't we just let bygones be bygones?

MAGA is a demented cult. Trump is its leader. When you have a situation where politicians are scared to vote a certain way, not because of how it might play with the electorate or donors, but because they and their families may be killed, then why would you appease the mob? The mob win, they're emboldened and it becomes the normal way of doing business. It's terrorism. This is a country where huge numbers of people own military grade weapons. Just think how insane it is that the US Capitol now has 6,000+ National Guard troops protecting it from Trump's followers.

Do you think the people who stormed the Capitol, beat police officers, and killed a police officer should be prosecuted? If so, should the person who incited them not also bear some responsibility?

I really don't want to go back over Mueller, but the facts are that there were so many connections between Trump's campaign and Russians - many of whom had been identified as Russian Intelligence assets - that the US Intelligence services and other 5 Eyes intelligence services were concerned about Trump. Multiple Trump campaign people have since been indicted, pleaded guilty and several were imprisoned.

Mueller was heavily criticised - including by senior members of the investigation - for not insisting on interviewing Trump (his lawyers provided written answers to questions) and not investigating Trump's finances.. Mueller went to lengths to say that the enquiry did not exonerate Trump. And is it not a bit weird that in four years of going to war on Twitter with long-standing allies from all around the world, Trump has never once had a bad word to say about Putin? Literally never once. You had the Helsinki humiliation where Trump said he believed Putin over US Intelligence. In an unprecedented move, Trump's Helsinki meeting with Putin also had no official records taken and the only other people in the meeting were the translators. Bit odd, no? Any action that has been taken against Russia in the past four years by way of punitive sanctions has been taken by Congress. And Trump absolutely should have been impeached first time round - the fact that the Senate blocked the appearance of witnesses shows you everything you need to know about whether the GOP was actually interested in considering the evidence.

We hear all this sh it from Trump and his followers that no other President has ever been treated like him - well, maybe ask yourself why?

As I've said before, one of the only truths to come out of Trump's mouth is when he said he could shoot someone of 5th Avenue and his supporters wouldn't care.

Let's not forget the 3 US soldiers killed for a bounty put on their heads by Russia. This was confirmed by US military and security services. They even found the Afghans who did it and the money but Trump preferred to take Putin's word instead.
Confirmed Russian cyber attacks? Trump said it was Iran.
Multiple Russian airforce forays in US airspace? Trump says nothing.

Or maybe just wait for another Trumpite to come along out of the cesspool he has created.

Always been fairly right wing in the USA, but even the past Presidents had limits, this man has managed to make it the norm to cheat and lie your way to the top, there is no doubt more Trumps in the background, but if a leash can be put on the current one, might make it just that bit harder and a good few decades before the next rears up.

Trump didn't create the cesspit, he's the manifestation of it.
The cesspit has been decades in making

I’m perfectly happy Baz, although it’s not actually about being happy, it’s about respecting the vote.

I wasn’t happy in 1997 when Blair got voted in but I accepted it, as we all should. The reaction over here to the democratic vote in 2016 here was shameful and that reaction has created the massive divisions we still see 5 years later.

Over to the US, I totally condemn the actions of Qanon and Trump, they are wrong, it’s up to the Republicans to go away and assess how to get elected in years to come. Incidentally, be interested to know if you’d condemn Antifa if they were reacting in the same way?

As for Trump, the man is now virtually deranged. I fully understand the Democrats challenging him on his policies, that’s the correct thing to do, but the way they’ve gone for him personally over the last four years is unacceptable. To personally vilify the man on such a scale would be classed as bullying in any other circumstance, it’s been relentless. You hear of previously sane but odd men carrying out atrocities after constant bullying, do we really know if this relentless baiting hasn’t pushed this strange man to the stage he’s reached now? We don’t. He has taken enough, if the Democrats have any humanity they should stop this now, let him go quietly and hopefully this mess can be resolved.

Not sure why the shock, we had a democratic vote here, 2016 I think, where the side that lost (48%) were adamant that they’d beaten the winning side (52%) and maintained that stance for three and a half years!

Mind blowing really and proof that there’s lunatics on both sides of the asylum.

It's taken me a long time to get around to using the Ignore button. But I did it for the first time recently with 2T2B, and it has improved my LFW reading experience and my mood immeasurably. So you will be the second. (Like murder, the second one is easier - or so I've heard). So long stevec and thanks for all the fish.

For the record, I won’t be ignoring anyone, irrespective of your views on life everyone’s entitled to their opinion.

Love listening to the likes of Baz, even though we probably disagree on most things. If everyone agreed with you you’d learn very little in life.

Is he to be questioned and allowed to plead etc?

I have just been told that FB users in the US are having accounts limited in the run up to the inauguration ceremony. Any posts with "stop the steal" etc. are being removed and account holders are receiving FB messages explaining that their accounts are under surveillance until after the ceremony. It appears also that the right are moving over to TikTok, Gab & Telegram to communicate now.

This may be a little off on a tagent and I know CNN favour a lot more Biden than Trump but Rupert Murduch (Fox News) will now no doubt be implanting his views via a new news channel in the UK, Johnson must be rubbing his hands with glee, who needs 'big bad Dom'........

The thought of the UK news channel spouting anything like what Trump got away with in the States is a concern.......
