Ten goals for Orient this season.

Decent return and some nice finishes.

I wonder what the plan is for him?

That was his 11th this season. Not always a starter, though.

Which is amazing consider he's got 11!!

We'd be over the moon with one of our strikers having 11 at this stage of the season!!

He always looked lost playing for us.

If he’s on the books for another season maybe stick him on the bench.

I don't disagree. But maybe a league 1 loan had really helped him.

I don't know. Not seen anything other than a few highlighted goals.

We should have received or are receiving payment for his loan to Orient. Maybe that's why he was given a year's contract extension. Not sure he'll get another extension though.

Orient have been on an absolute charge since December and now just a few points off the playoffs, they used the loan market well.

Kelman could conceivably finish the season with 20 goals, putting him in the shop window for a potential sale, or strengthen our options for next season. It’d be hard to dismiss a player with that kind of output, especially just from the league below.

Still only 23, and 100+ career games, sometimes players just need time to find their groove. Ironically, if he were at another club and delivered those numbers, he’d fit the kind of player profile we’d be scouting.

Of course, there’s still a while left in the season, but if he reaches that milestone he’ll certainly deserve another chance.

Looking forward to see how this progresses.

If he hadn’t got injured, Frey would be on double figures by now.

Heard from various sources that Kelman was the best finisher at the club. However, he didn't look much use when he got some 1st XI game time. Hopefully the loan has done him the world of good

Sometimes its just all about experience and playing games at that level. With the way Orient are going, let him enjoy a playoff push and see how close to 20 he can get. Whatever happens, we have a striker we can bring back and use or one who now has value with that full scoring season under his belt. Always makes me think of Will Keane who looked useless for us as a kid on loan, until he played lots of League 1 football, stopped looking useless and became a very effective striker for our level. Lets hope Kelman develops like that.

One of those players that you are willing to come good in a QPR shirt, but it just does not happen. Cifuentes gave him a go early in his tenure but he just fell short again, been the story since Warburton signed him.

I live in staunchly Orient (and Hammers) territory, went to watch them a few times season before last and thought he was heavy, both in touch and girth.
However, my neighbour is home and Os and was raving about him recently (having told me previously he thought he was L2!). Says his improvement this season has been huge.

Dunno. Still only 23 and played well over a 100 league games, scored lots of goals. Could be something there still. Will definitely score against QPR one day.

Never want to see him again after he started in that home match against Plymouth last season. I just can't see him ever making the grade.

He got, what, 20 games or so for us, from about 2020. I'd want Marti to at least take another look at him post-Orient, or what's the point of his loan from our POV?

Yeah, at some point I guess a decision has to be made either way. Worked OK for Smyth, just hope it turns out OK for Kelman.

It's actually his 12th goal this season.

The latest FA Cup game has not been updated on his stats yet and also has 4 assists so far also.

Was said during Les's tenure here that he was the most clinical finisher at the club, but at a time when the other options were Sinclair Armstrong, Lyndon Dykes and Macauley Bonne, not really that hard to be such.

But yes well done Charlie. This is what loans are meant for. To test players at a slightly lower level, gain confidences and come back with regular match practice under your belt and hopefully more match savvy and then come back to the club and see how it goes.

He seemed to drift when playing for us previously, but it's some time ago and given what he has achieved, I would have no issues with him being tried out as a squad player for ourselves, when he could well have progressed to be effective at our level now.

Good on him..

If you knew of a 23yo striker who gets close to 20 goals in a season in L1, then QPR would be among a clutch of clubs interested.
Let us see what happens.

If he does well we bring him back, if not he gets sold/released. Even if he is scoring at Orient his whole round game might not be good enough for the Championship.
We don't see if he is pressing, is he blocking passing lines etc.
I hope he gets another chance with us.

Looks like he’s taking his chance to show QPR he’s an option for our squad: thought giving him a new contract was a wrong move but it’s looking potentially shrewd now.

Not good enough, sell him to Orient. Good luck to him.
