Paal down the left for Morgan to run onto and Frey to put away a low cross.
Then there was:
Paal horizontal pass across to Chair to stirke and we all know most of Ilias Shots go 35 yards wide so we then place our Fox in the Box to Scorpion back heel the ball at two miles an hour into the opposite corner.
With Frey and Lloyd playing so well today and Kolli also having a few decent performances on the back of Celar finally breaking his duck, i decided to check how Charlie Kelman has been doing at Leyton Orient in league One.
Thought he may have got maybe two or three goals but was very surprised to see he has :
10 goals and 4 assists so far this season.
He has only just turned 23.
I didn't think he has looked up to Championship football, but seems a decent haul. I am not sure if he is out of contract here when he returns but if he manages 20 goals and 8 assists ie doubling for the rest of the season ie we just past halfway, maybe he is improving.
Am sure, many of us have moments that will stick with us for a very long time, in that Rangers did something quite incredible that we witnessed in person or on TV. Doesn't need to be a wonder goal. Could be a sending off, a moment of madness, an emotional response, something overheard from players. And likewise for worst ever moment.
I wasn't unfortunately well enough to watch the game at Wembley for the Zamora moment and quite a few stand out moments over the years when wasn't unfortunately in attendance. Finances and working away i only saw about two or three games in person during the Adel Season, not old enough for Stan.
Think my best moment for me was Kenny Samson hitting an absolute rocket into the bottom corner of the net. Was in East Paddock drenched and it was hard to see properly in those days on the terraces, particularly if you weren't 6 foot 3. But was great game, fabulous atmosphere, singing all game, a lot of who the frickin hell are you to the Arsenal fans and the like. And we were under a lot of pressure. The ball was laid off to Sansom in second half, I think by Sinton , and time stood still when Kenny reached the ball and struck it with arrow like accuracy, was one of those net rippling moments. Beauty personified !!
It was like an explosion of chaos, for minutes afterwards. I totally lost my nut that day. Haven't had a moment like that since.
Nearest in recent seasons was Jummy Dunne's swerving thunderbolt volley into the top corner for a 90th minute winner, but because am older, am bit more restrained in my reactions !!
It's hard for me to pin down worst ever moments but I unfortunately was actually going to most home games when we had Ainsworth in charge, as I felt we had zero chance of winning and zero chance of seeing any quality football from Rangers, who were more like a Sunday league team all this time. Most home games over the years I have felt, we had decent chances of winning against most teams at home, but that period was brutal !!
My best moment watching on the box was Mackie putting us two one up at City in the Aguerooo game and we had ten men at that point also. My mates boss was with us at the time, not a football fan, he had zero idea, why two so called adult professional men were wetting themselves something chronic and rolling around the floor giggling in fits just because a man kicked a ball between two sticks !!
Worst moment witnessed on TV. It's hazy for me as was in middle of exams at the time, so again wasn't at the game, but unfortunately that Milk Cup Final against Oxford.
We had done brilliantly to knock out Chelsea and Liverpool and only had lowly Oxford in between us and glory. I was certain that finally Rangers would get some silverware. Great wet lettuce. Never was a phrase more apt. The whole 90 minutes of moments for me was seriously depressing, like the players had been drugged or there was some kind of gambling scam going on. Was awful.
Personally would have started Kolli up front from the start today but Michael Frey put in a powerhouse performance.
Really enjoyed watching him play today.
Must have been a massive boost to slot one home after only four minutes and whenever the ball went in his direction, you felt he could hold off the opposition, hold up the play, retain possession and never be bullied off the ball.
Very strong in the air also.
Definitely today felt he reaffirmed his role as our number one centre forward.
Let's hope he is used well and is rotated when possible so that he doesn't become unavailable for a period again this season.
Obviously his limitations are that he has no pace but I feel Marti knows what game suits Frey and today we certainly enabled his best side.
From being by far the worst team in the league to , in current form, being one of the most decent in the league.
This has happened on multiple occasions in our past and especially the last five or six seasons.
When can we get it all together throughout a whole season. Was this coming or is confidence such a massive factor in modern day football.
My personal view re the clubs upturn.
Yes some players been adjusting to the league, but I think Marti is the key and the development of group togetherness within the squad is so much better than the last couple of seasons.
Anyone that has any spare time, maybe you retired, semi retired, between jobs, enjoying a sabbatical or not well enough to work.
Perhaps a new hobby could be to analyse football players fron around the globe on data with the latest database technology so that the ideal player for Paul Smyrh crosses or the perfect left back to run behind Saito or the best Danish midfielder to help Madsen and Anderson create for the team can be found.
If anyone has access to the databases we could all do a shift and update the club on our findings.
Merry Xmas QPR !!!
Or maybe not !!!
It would look good on your CVs !!!
If anyone feels they have any other opportunities they can bless our club with so we keep making progress please say.
Think today's 30 minute cameo has now established signs that the real Chair has returned Looked strong, released the ball much much quicker and added strength and quality.
Superb assist for the winner. Think he replaces Saito in the first eleven next game,
Harsh on Saito but think he could do well as an impact sub.
I always felt we would win it and what an atmosphere. The crowd today literally sucked that winner into the net. A lot of our youngsters playing superbly.
What a turn around. Absolutely brilliant.
Chair looked sharp when he came on too.
With the ever iconic Jimmy getting the winner. This guy is going to be very high up in the memory as an ex R when his playing days are over.
Pleasure to head off into Christmas following this beautiful game.
Marti's stock has been dented a little with the start to the season, we have had, but with both Wolves and Southampton recently sacking their managers, would a relegation threatened club take a punt on Marti.
To be fair, I think a lot of reading between the lines, is included in a great deal of managerial appointments.
I think someone with the profile of a Cifuentes type manager, would be a better bet than a Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard profile.
You can only work with the tools you have at your disposal and Cifuentes has done well considering.
Appreciate it's almost certainly not going to happen, but there have definitely been much worse appointments in the premier league in recent years.
