Dale’s midweek trip to Hartlepool United on Tuesday will be refereed by MARTIN WOODS.

The Wigan official was promoted to the National List two years ago, where his first EFL match was Northampton v Colchester in League Two.

He officiated 27 games in that debut campaign, followed by another 30 last season, before the change to the refereeing structure for this term means National List officials now referee in League One, League Two and the National League.

Tuesday will be Martin’s seventh appointment of this season, but only the second in the National League following Gateshead v Yeovil last month.

He has refereed twice in League Two and three times in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, with his games so far yielding 24 yellow cards.

This is Mr Woods’ first Dale appointment, but in the 2020/21 season he oversaw four Hartlepool games, including three at Victoria Park against Aldershot, Sutton and Maidenhead.
